Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=6123987 By: terry_permeance Hi Peter, I forgot to mention they have removed shared/lib in Tomcat 6 although common/lib may suffice. I suggest we focus on latest versions of platform (i.e. Tomcat 6) in standardising APLAWS. Also, we should examine relevant standards such as JSR 286 (portlet) or WSRP 2.0 (web services for remote portlet) since portal platforms have come a long way since the Portal application in APLAWS was created. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=6123855 By: pboy Hi Terry, for a default APLAWS deployment I think it is best to deploy into the application's private ~/WEB-INF/lib directory. So it will not interfere with any other application inside the container. System administrators can move it to a shared location if appropriate or we may add it as an option to the packaging tool. | As I understand it, webapps/WEB-INF/lib is identical to the shared/lib folder in Tomcat 4/5. Thanks for the clue, I'll check our customized bootloader. As an intermediate solution (until we moved all applications into one directory) I will install them in shared/lib so the currently separate applications will find them. If I remember correctly this is the same way Alan solved it in his jboss script. Peter Terry, by the way, did you receive my PM regarding portal? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=6109911 By: pfosterlbc Hi, I recently modified a stylesheet to apply an additional attribute (xmlns) to the <html> tag. This hasn't had the desired effect, as it appears the attribute is now applied to a number of other tags, in addition to the required html tag. Is there any way to debug XSLT at a low level in APLAWS? In particular, I would like to determine which XSL rules are applied to a content item, in order to investigate how this styling bug arises. Cheers Peter ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=6105872 By: terry_permeance Hi Peter, The libraries in webapps/WEB-INF/lib are shared by all the webapps via the ClassLoader hierarchy created by the customised Bootstrap class. As I understand it, webapps/WEB-INF/lib is identical to the shared/lib folder in Tomcat 4/5. If you move these libraries into webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/lib then they won't be shared by other webapps - not only the code but also the class (static) variables too. I suspect this might be solved by packaging everything into an EAR which has an application class loader above each of the ejb/war class loaders. No idea about Resin, sorry. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=6081802 By: pboy Hi all, I'm currently in the process to finish the Phase A of my proposition for a standard compliant deployment of APLAWS (see https://fedorahosted.org/aplaws/milestone/Standard Compliant APLAWS Deployment). The last task is no. 5 to move the ~/webapps/WEB-INF/lib directory to a standard compliant location, namely ~/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/lib (all other tasks are done and work fine here). I'm wondering why we used the current location. Is it because of a requirement of Resin 2.x ? Is it a leftover from a even earlier version of tomcat? If it is because of Resin, do we have still to support version 2.x (presumed we establish a standard compliant deployment)? Does anybody need to use Resin 2.x in the future? Please, could somebody shed some light upon these topics? Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=5856933 By: pboy Hi all, sometimes ago clasohm added some enhancements to ccm-ldn-navigation and increased the *version* number. As to my knowledge according to our numbering policy the version number (third position) should be increased if the datase schema is modified and/or an update script is provided. So, in this case we should increase the *release* number. Right or wrong? It would make it easier to create release notes and other types of documentation if a consistent schema is in place. And just another remark: Would be great if each contributor could add to the commit message: - what is the benefit of the modification (beside it is selb explanatory as 'Fix compiler error') - how to use it - short example if appropriate. Again: Would make the process of creating documentation a lot easier :-) Peter ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=5743718 By: pfosterlbc Hi, Thank you for the info. Having implemented some code, I am investigating why some code doesn't produce the expected result. Given a content item ID and a user ID, the code is of the form WorkflowTemplate template = new WorkflowTemplate(templateID); Workflow workflow = template.instantiateNewWorkflow(); workflow.setObjectID(itemID); workflow.start(User.retrieve(userID)); workflow.save(); However, when examining the content item in the APLAWS backend it appears that the workflow has not been applied. This is despite the fact that IDs logged from within ccm-cms/src.com.arsdigita.cms.ui.workflow.ItemWorkflowSelectForm are identical to those used in the code segment. Any ideas massively appreciated! Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=5729588 By: pboy Hi, Currently, you can prepare content items in different languages by selecting the proper language during creation of the content item. It's up to you to write the content in the intended language. You can change the language to another one or - more important - add another language version about the same topic (i.e. a translation) using the language tab in the authoring pane. The system adds the appropriate trailer to the URL provided by you. In order to use lutliple language versions You have to download our muli-language patch at http://ccm.barkhof.uni-bremen.de/trac/ccm Peter ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=5729535 By: pboy Hi Chandra, I'm not shure weather I got your question right. During creation of a content item you select the language as you described. In order to create a really multilanguage site, you use the language tab in the authoring pane to add another language version about the same topic. You have to wright the content in the respective language. That's up to you. The *.properties files are used to determine the labels for the several input fields of the copntent-center. The language is selected automatically, depending on your browsers preferences. So, if your browser defaults to english, you get the english labels in the content center, regardless of the language you are editing the content. If you publish the different language versions, currently they all show up in the navigation menue. And there is currently no functionality to prepare a navigation tree in different languages. So, practically the multi language functionality in APLAWS is quite useless. We have created a patch, which enables a multilanguage navigation tree and which shows only those content items, which correspond to the preferred language as indicated by the browser. We have not committed the patch yet, because we can create and delete a non-default category language, but not edit (we just didn't find the necessary methods in core). You may download the patch from our development repository at http://ccm.barkhof.uni-bremen.de/trac/ccm Peter ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=5715736 By: alan_permeance Hi Phil, To upgrade just down the FCK disto and replace $CCM_DEV_HOME/ccm-core/web/assets/fckeditor contents with the new disto. I recommend doing a diff between these folders before you copy (you dont what to clobber any custom changes). FCK is configured via the $CCM_DEV_HOME/ccm-core/web/assets/fckeditor/config/fckconfigstyledefault.js, so you most likely want to keep the original and update it to include any new features etc. The ccm-forum application also has its own FCK configuration so you may need to check/update that as well. Good luck Alan ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
