Dear Edo, Thanks for your message. I am copying this answer to the list ape...@li..., where many Apertium experts meet. Here's my preliminary opinion. > > For this reason I am looking for a table (see the example below) with all > the conjugations of all verbs in both English and Spanish, with a way of > knowing when a verb is irregular or follows an irregular pattern (so the > software can keep track of the student's knowledge of these verbs) > I have seen the Apertium website and I was wondering whether it would be > possible to generate such a table using the Apertium software. Or perhaps direct me to somebody in your team > that can help me? > OK, here's my impression: - All of the verbs in our vocabularies are classified in paradigms. Each paradigm has its name, usually patterned after an example. To distinguish irregular from regular verbs would mean identifying paradigm names corresponding to regular verbs, and then dealing with ther rest. - I think most, if not all, of the information you need is in our dictionaries (monolingual, bilingual). An XML expert would easily parse our XML files into tables similar to the one you show below. It is not trivial, but clearly doable. - Our licensing scheme means that any product derived from our XML files should bear the same license (GPL). I hope you can find the time to point me in the right direction. > Let's see what other experts say.
