Ah, I think what we might have here, is a failure to communicate! Especially on my part. :( I'm using an SU3000RM with a network interface card installed. The network interface doesn't provide protection for the network. It provides a TCP/IP interface to the UPS. It has telnet and web interfaces, and may even have an SNMP interface. I can telnet to the UPS to monitor and control it. With the network interface, I should not need the serial cable interface. But APCUPSD does not appear to have the capability to connect to the UPS via TCP/IP; to my dismay, it appears only to connect via serial cable. So, can the APCUPSD connect to the UPS via TCP/IP or is a serial cable absolutely necessary? Neal |
