I want to connect each host to the UPS via ethernet. After all, isn't that what the ethernet interface is supposed to accomplish? Or, at the very least, connect one system (the master, I suppose) to the UPS via ethernet and have the other systems connect to the master. But I don't want to have to use a serial cable. The whole point of buying these UPSen with ethernet interfaces was to eliminate the need for the serial cables. Or have I completely misunderstood the functionality of the APC UPS ethernet interface, in that the UPSen can only be operated/monitored/ controlled using a serial cable interface? Which would make the ethernet interface rather pointless and worthless.... Neal |
