[Apcupsd-users] [PATCH] Conf: new SELFTESTGRACEPERIOD option to prevent self test shutdowns

Hello,

attached is the patch that hopefully resolves my struggles with
Back-UPS RS 1500 LCD (849.H1 .I USB FW:H1) vs. apcupsd.

I will keep an eye on whether it indeed helps me (no idea if
I can speed automatic self test cadence up in any way with this
device), but thought I might solicit feedback on this preliminary
patch in the interim.  Also, it's up there for any use under
the same terms as the original project.

I've read up a bit on the upleasant state of activity in the upstream,
but should there be any interest in collective massaging of this
patch so that it could be merged "once there is a good time",
I am all ears.  I am not subsribed to the list (not sure the message
will make it through filters/moderation, please CC in possible
responses to the list), but from what I gathered, Ted might be
the best erson to talk with nowadays.

It is also possible I am doing something wrong with this device,
but I much rather be able to show that empirically, the commit
indeed is of some usefulness (self test inflicted shutdowns no
longer occur) ... I shall report on this progress after I gain
some data points/confidence.

Last but not least, maybe a problem akin to this was already
discussed here?  If so, can you point those threads to me,
please?
