" Not strictly apcupsd, but I know that there's expertise here... I have a Backup UPS RS1500, with no load connected. It's been idle for some time; I finally got around to looking at it. Plugged it in, and it flashed online & overload. Installed new (non-APC) batteries. Cycled power. Now PowerChute sees the UPS, gets correct Serial Number. So the uP/USB are alive. (PC is not powered from the UPS; just the USB connection. It's an old PowerChute on an XP laptop that I use for debugging.) Power up, goes on battery, does not go on-line. On-line blinks. PowerChute thinks it's on battery. Tried holding power button until all lights flash, released (reset). No change. "Brain dead reset": Unplugged AC, internal battery, held ON for >10 sec, reconnected battery, AC. No change. Tried setting sensitivity to "low" with power button. No change. Four other RS1500s work (also with new batteries - I'm replacing all batteries in my fleet), so it's not input power. Outlet is good. How to troubleshoot? Perhaps there's a fuse in the AC input? Or the AC detect circuitry? Schematics? I like the RS1500 because it accepts the BR24P external battery pack, which gives it extended runtime. More than the newer models, most of which don't support external batteries. (Those that do are expensive.) So I'd like to fix this unit. (BTW, it is possible to replace the batteries in the BR24P, though opening them takes some work.) Thanks for any help/hints... _______________________________________________ Apcupsd-users mailing list Apc...@li... https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/apcupsd-users " |
