I know the server and apcupsd are screwed. what I was asking is what is going on in "realspace" Is someone fiddling around with the battery, yanking it out? > 2. apcaccess can't read values. > >> Is it you just pulled the battery tray out and are changing >> the battery ? >> >> If so then that condition lasts less than 30 seconds, correct ? > > Not in this time. Unless the battery is completely discharged the UPS should NEVER issue a NOBATT unless some human being has their hands in the guts of the UPS and is disconnecting the battery. > I lost status information because I check it by > apcaccess. NOBATT should NEVER happen except for just seconds - while a tech unplugs one battery tray and plugs in another, then slides the batteries back into the UPS. How is it that you would get lucky enough to just happen to run apcaccess right at the exact time someone was replacing the battery? It seems to me you had NOBATT being reported by the UPS for hours or days. Not seconds. It seems that the UPS was reporting NOBATT when there actually WAS a battery in the UPS. Could you be more specific as to what is going on in realspace with the UPS, not cyberspace? Ted |
