Hi, I'm new to this list and to apcupsd, sorry for the possibly lame questions. I'm using an MGE UPS protection center 500 connected using an RJ45 connector on the APC side and an USB connector on the computer side. The computer is running apcupsd 3.14.11 on Fedora 19. Although the APC is reported as online, apcaccess is showing most values as 0, including the battery charge level. Here the output of apcaccess : # apcaccess APC : 001,028,0712 DATE : 2014-02-28 18:21:04 +0100 HOSTNAME : smeagol.schlobinux.org VERSION : 3.14.11 (31 January 2014) redhat UPSNAME : smeagol.schlobinux.org CABLE : USB Cable DRIVER : USB UPS Driver UPSMODE : Stand Alone STARTTIME: 2014-02-28 18:09:12 +0100 MODEL : STATUS : ONLINE LOADPCT : 0.0 Percent Load Capacity BCHARGE : 000.0 Percent TIMELEFT : 0.0 Minutes MBATTCHG : 5 Percent MINTIMEL : 3 Minutes MAXTIME : 0 Seconds OUTPUTV : 000.0 Volts DWAKE : 000 Seconds LOTRANS : 000.0 Volts HITRANS : 000.0 Volts ALARMDEL : 30 seconds NUMXFERS : 0 TONBATT : 0 seconds CUMONBATT: 0 seconds XOFFBATT : N/A STATFLAG : 0x05000008 Status Flag SERIALNO : END APC : 2014-02-28 18:21:38 +0100 One can also note the model and serial number are not shown either, although these values are properly reported by lsusb : # lsusb -v -s 2:4 Bus 002 Device 004: ID 0463:ffff MGE UPS Systems UPS Device Descriptor: bLength 18 bDescriptorType 1 bcdUSB 1.10 bDeviceClass 0 (Defined at Interface level) bDeviceSubClass 0 bDeviceProtocol 0 bMaxPacketSize0 8 idVendor 0x0463 MGE UPS Systems idProduct 0xffff UPS bcdDevice 42.41 iManufacturer 1 (error) iProduct 2 PROTECTIONCENTER iSerial 4 1HGG37026 bNumConfigurations 1 Configuration Descriptor: bLength 9 bDescriptorType 2 wTotalLength 34 bNumInterfaces 1 bConfigurationValue 1 iConfiguration 0 bmAttributes 0xa0 (Bus Powered) Remote Wakeup MaxPower 20mA Interface Descriptor: bLength 9 bDescriptorType 4 bInterfaceNumber 0 bAlternateSetting 0 bNumEndpoints 1 bInterfaceClass 3 Human Interface Device bInterfaceSubClass 0 No Subclass bInterfaceProtocol 0 None iInterface 0 HID Device Descriptor: bLength 9 bDescriptorType 33 bcdHID 1.00 bCountryCode 33 US bNumDescriptors 1 bDescriptorType 34 Report wDescriptorLength 769 Report Descriptors: ** UNAVAILABLE ** Endpoint Descriptor: bLength 7 bDescriptorType 5 bEndpointAddress 0x81 EP 1 IN bmAttributes 3 Transfer Type Interrupt Synch Type None Usage Type Data wMaxPacketSize 0x0008 1x 8 bytes bInterval 20 Device Status: 0x0001 Self Powered My configuration is the out of the box default and seems correct to me : UPSCABLE usb UPSTYPE usb DEVICE LOCKFILE /etc/apcupsd SCRIPTDIR /etc/apcupsd PWRFAILDIR /etc/apcupsd NOLOGINDIR /etc ONBATTERYDELAY 6 BATTERYLEVEL 5 MINUTES 3 TIMEOUT 0 ANNOY 300 ANNOYDELAY 60 NOLOGON disable KILLDELAY 0 NETSERVER on NISIP 0.0.0.0 NISPORT 3551 EVENTSFILE /var/log/apcupsd.events EVENTSFILEMAX 10 UPSCLASS standalone UPSMODE disable STATTIME 0 STATFILE /var/log/apcupsd.status LOGSTATS off DATATIME 0 Also, I am not able to run any command from apctest. Everything just reports something along the line of : I don't know how to run a self test on your UPS or your UPS does not support self test. Probably my APC is either not properly detected or not supported. I've read the doc and searched the mailing list, but no luck. Can anyone help with this issue ? Regards, Xavier |
