[Apcupsd-users] Configuring external battery packs

Hi,
I have an APC SU3000RMXL3U, to which I just added an SU48R3XLBP battery 
pack.  Everything connected just fine physically, but the UPS still 
reports 0 external battery packs connected.

This APC URL says that I need "Powerchute Business Edition or a Network 
Management Card" to configure the UPS and tell it that it has external 
batteries now.  (I believe the SU48R3 counts as two battery packs for 
this purpose.)

Is there any way I can perform this setting using apcupsd (3.14.8), or 
is this a case where I really have to have either PowerChute Business or 
network management?
