Hi, I have had this problem before and cannot remember the fix. It is there in the list archives. Check the list archives. The trick is to update the ups driver using the supplied *.inf files. I'm having a bit of a time getting apcupsd running on my Windows 7 Pro SP1 64bit standalone machine. I have a BACK-UPS ES 500. I have had it successfully running with APC's PowerChute Personal 3.0 which I uninstalled before installing apcupsd. The install was error free and used all default answers. I read everything as I went through it and saw no need to stray from defaults. I reviewed the manual (page 17- Verifying Device Detection and Driver) which says to look for LibUSB-Win32 Devices section in the Device manager. I don't see that. I do see "APC UPS" under Batteries section, and it disappears/ reappears when I unplug/ plug the usb in. No change after a reboot. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- All of the data generated in your IT infrastructure is seriously valuable. Why?
