Using "not subscribed" should cause that they will not receive emails any more. They are not deleted from database nor sent to Trash bin, this has to be done by hand. You can search for people having "not subscribed" set and move them to the Trash. There is another possibility, using the unsubscribe link (email alias _#UNSBFORM), which has the form of alerts.shtml?au=ABCDE, and which does the same: sets how often to "not subscribed". Honza I've been checking in all the odds and ends from different installations ofAPC-AA , so that you'll have the latest code for your release. This included making some changes to config.php3 so that it has less variation between sites. Specifically I've created three variables ONLY used inside config.php3, AA_SITE_PATH e.g. /home/httpd/html/ AA_HTTP_DOMAIN e.g. http://my.domain.org/ These complement AA_BASE_DIR which was already there and means a lot of sites will have very little to change in that file. The down-side is that almost everyone upgrading via CVS will have to sort out conflicts. Old - un-updated versions of config.php3 will work fine, since the variables defined are only internal to config.php3 - Mitra -- Mitra Technology Consulting - www.mitra.biz - mi...@mi... 02-6684-8096 or 0414-648-0722 Life is a Mystery to be Lived, not a Problem to be Solved |

I've just posted a new script to CVS - admin/summarize.php3 The idea is to review all the slices on a site, and comment on differences, I needed it because I have a number of slices that are supposed to be almost the same, and I forget which ones I've done what bug-fixes to. By the way its in "admin" because I've added it to my own AA menu, you can add it to yours by uncommenting the last entry in include/menu_aa.php3 The most useful info is at the BOTTOM of the listing, where it starts looking at the user slices rather than the three pre-shipped slices. Feel free to improve it :-) I haven't figured out how to make it appear in the regular menu area yet ... - Mitra -- Mitra Technology Consulting - www.mitra.biz - mi...@mi... 02-6684-8096 or 0414-648-0722 Life is a Mystery to be Lived, not a Problem to be Solved |

Add "all slices" to $constants array in /admin/se_inputform.php3 (row about 155). Right now there are listed two kinds of "constants": 1) real constants and=20 2) slices.=20 The only difference in field setting in database is, that slices have '#sLiCe-' prefix before its ID. We then look for '#sLiCe-' prefix in show_fnc_*() functions (like show_fnc_rio() - all in /include/itemfunc.php3). If we find the '#sLiCe-' prefix, we call GetItemHeadlines() function, if not, we call GetConstants() function. So, you probably will add new prefix for 'slices' in /admin/se_inputform.php3 and then you will modify all functions in=20 /include/itemfunc.php3, which uses constants (just search for '#sLiCe-'). It will be probably best to cteate special function FillArrayFromConstants(), which then will be called from all show_fnc_*() functions. It could looks like: function FillArrayFromConstants($constgroup) { switch( substr($constgroup,0,7) ) { case '#sLiCe-':=20 return GetItemHeadlines( substr($constgroup, 7), "" ); case '#mItRa-': // your prefix for slices selectbox 7 char long return YourFunctionToGetSlices( substr($constgroup, 7), "" ); default:=20 return GetConstants( $constgroup ); } } I'm not sure, how you plan to restrict listed slices, or if you want to show here all slices, but it's up to you. If I want to add a new constant type, how would I go about it - what are the set of places that need it implementing. Specifically what I need is a constant type which is the list of slices. Obviously I'd like to reuse as much of the existing code as possible - so for example it could be the code from the existing Select box. In case you are interested .... the reason I want to do this, is that I have a web site which has a number of almost identical sub-sections, each of which has its own set of slices for different applications ... So I have a "Sustainable Agriculture" section and a "Event organizers" section. So in the item that relates to Sustainable Agriculture - gives a short summary, and a pointer to its icon etc, I also want to put the SliceID of the slices that contain those applications - e.g. a Directory, a Blog, a collection of Imported News, etc. Which means that in the Fields of my main slice, I want to be able to say that a specific field is selected from the Constant Group "Slices" - Mitra -- Mitra Technology Consulting - www.mitra.biz - mi...@mi... 02-6684-8096 or 0414-648-0722 Life is a Mystery to be Lived, not a Problem to be Solved |

04/05/03 - enhanced the view types definitions in constant.php3 so that (jakub) help text may be added and field type overrided (used in Alerts Selection Set view) - enhanced zids->add() to work with arrays and zids objects - added zids->union() and made some minor fixes in zids - added a new setting to Alerts Selection Set view, to choose whether the corresponding filters should be grouped by selections (see doc/reader.html for a description) - fixed Alerts manual sending: all collections were sent instead of only the current one - added mutual exclusion to reader management usernames and AA permissions usernames (the same username can't be used in both) - separated Alerts doc to doc/alerts.xml and enhanced it Jakub |

The best approach is to allways set the expiry date. If you are administrator of the slice, you shoud display the expiry date on the inputform or specify default value in Fields setting. On the other hand, we must count with such misconfigured slices, so YES, we should change the code to accept the NULL values as well. Your solution is good. What about to create different views for small(est) parts of the output = (e.g. up-level category link, subcategory link and its selected = subcategories, list of links in actual category) and then combine them = in similar way how it is done in site module? And why not to extend site = module for that purpose? And some more questions: Would it be possible to make relations between categories and other = modules (e.g. news articles, directory, ...)? Would it be possible to reuse the code for links module and to add = similar functionality (editors for specific categories) to other modules = (e.g. news articles)? Something like this might be really great... = (right now we want to delegate some sections/categories of our site to = different authors - we do want to allow them access only to their = section, not to the whole site; but with possibility to share articles = among sections and on homepage. We plan to do it by restricting list of = site wide sections/categories they could see on their edit form, but = looking for more flexible solution). norbert br...@ch... |

=46or the output - I'm not sure your question, but I'm assuming its to do with showing hierarchical cwould suggest something like specifying a template for beginning and each level, so for example you could specify <b>_#HEADLINE</b><ul> and </ul> for the first level <li>_#HEADLINE</li> for the second . Does that make sense? Note that the {math...} function allows you to do stuff like multiple columns, I use it to get a photo album with 3 columns. - Mitra At 1:56 PM +0100 28/3/03, Honza Malik wrote: >Link module is still not complete, but I will try to make it working in >AA v2.6. > >What works: > >- admin interface for links (adding categories, links, ...) - there > will be some improvements on this, but basicaly it works (we want to > move ekolink.cz to the AA link module next week) > >What is still missing: > >- SQL commands to initate the links module in the database in > sql_update.php3 script (not so hard to do - will be in v2.6) > >- interface for modifying of output (something like SliceAdmin -> Design > - Fulltext, ...) - currently we display output from custom php > scripts. Link module is still not complete, but I will try to make it working in AA v2.6. What works: - admin interface for links (adding categories, links, ...) - there will be some improvements on this, but basicaly it works (we want to move ekolink.cz to the AA link module next week) What is still missing: - SQL commands to initate the links module in the database in sql_update.php3 script (not so hard to do - will be in v2.6) - interface for modifying of output (something like SliceAdmin -> Design - Fulltext, ...) - currently we display output from custom php scripts. (Hard to do - I have no idea, how to do it since we need some kind of cycles in templates, ...) - documentation (quite hard to do, because links module is quite complex - mainly in terms of permissions to the links/categories Honza On P=E1, 2003-03-28 at 09:22, Mitra wrote: > At 12:52 PM +0100 25/2/03, Honza Malik wrote: > >Hi Norbert, > > > >On So, 2003-02-22 at 01:09, Norbert Br=E1zda wrote: > >> Hi Honza, > >> > >> From: "Honza Malik" <hon...@ec...> > >> > I posted some changes to CVS.
