Complete Rewrite Done!

Did complete rewrite into Perl, allowed much better error handling and code control.
Previous version didn't always work with SSL to the point that you could do a startssl and count on it coming up.
This version tested nicely on Linux, will reevaluate on Solaris and cygwin.
Default values for CA are not populated from config file, this must be fixed, otherwise is going very, very well.
This package will now completely build a working mod_perl mod_ssl Apache 1.3.27 installation from scratch with no user input along the way. All params are defined in the config file, but most can be left at the default values so the very inexperienced user can create their Apache-Mod_Perl-Mod_SSL installation without any knowledge whatsoever.
Does now require Perl on the system you build on, but this is fine because you're building mod_perl anyway and thus you have to have Perl for that.
Haven't done Mod_PHP yet, that's a next step along with some cleanup.
Enjoy, and please feel free to give some feedback, good or bad, and what you liked/didn't like.

ApacheBuilder Version 1.0 (Beta) Released

ApacheBuilder, an easy-to-read and easy-to-modify Korn shell script that automates download, build, install, and test of Apache with Mod_perl, Mod_SSL (with OpenSSL), is hereby released. This project is in Beta stage in that the basic functionality should work on some platforms (tested on Solaris and Linux).

It can be difficult to download the correct / compatible versions of Apache, Mod_Perl, and Mod_SSL so they will all work together. Further, there are frequently problems during the installation process with configuration such that a user has to know many technical details.... read more
