I wouldn't be able to read the letters on this screen if I did. In fact AntiSpam should remember it's position. Just drag the window to the place you like, close it and click on the AntiSpam button again; at least on our test computers the AntiSpam window re-appears on the last position. > b. I think that's not a good idea because the whois lookup needs an internet connection, and therefore an automatic check would be a nuisance for dialup users. > c. I do understand your wishes but we have decided that we want to leave the decision if and to whom someone sends a complaint entireley to the user. AntiSpam helps in the process but the decision and the responsibility must in our option remain at the person in front of the screen. > e. I don't know if that's possible, but I'll put that one on our list. > Any and all comments are certainly welcome. Thanks for your comments and suggestions! Hi, The AntiSpam3 add on to Pegasus is excellent. I can't thank you enough for creating/shareing it. I have been looking for a way to relieve some of my frustration with spam and this is an excellent help in the battle. I may be using it incorrectly. Since I am not as familiar with it as other people that have been using it for a long time, I'd like to find out if I'm using it correctly. First I have found that in order to drop an email on the AntiSpam window I must size my mail box to allow for part of the AntiSpam window to show through. I was wondering if it would be a lot easier if instead of having an AntiSpam window, to program it so a person could drag the email to the AntiSpam icon in the tool bar? It's just a nicety that would make it a tiny bit easier to use. I don't have the real estate on my screen. If I had a hand full of spam it wouldn't matter. But since I need to go into production (if you know what I mean) I'd like to make sure I am using AntiSpam in the most efficient manner. What I am doing is: 1. Dragging the email to the AntiSpam window. 2. Double clicking on the line that is not a localhost or a private IP address to get the email address. 3. If there is no valid email address I move the window to the left so I can see the X in the upper right to close the window. 4. Double clicking on the same line to add the email address to the complain box. 5. Putting a check mark in the address in the complain box. 6. Pressing the send button. 7. Right clicking on the original email and marking it read. 8. Deleting the original email out of my spam folder. Of course I have no right to request anything since you two have provided an excelent program. But just in case you are up to suggestions. (or maybe I'm not using AntiSpam correctly) What I would like to see is: a. Open the AntiSpam window two inches to the left of it's current position. I realize that if I used a PC with a higher resolution this wouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't be able to read the letters on this screen if I did. b. When the AntiSpam window opens it would be nice if it would automatically search for an address without me double clicking on it. c. After the AntiSpam searches for an email address it would be nice if it would automatically add that address to the complain window. d. After the AntiSpam adds an address to the complain window it would be nice if it would put a check mark in the box so it's ready to send it out. e. After it I click on the send button it would be nice if the program would mark my original email as read and delete it. If the above suggestions were implimented it would eliminate 6 of the 8 steps I need to do for each and every spam email I want to report. When processing thousands of these it would sure be a large help to remove that many steps. (Unless of course I am doing something wrong in my processing) Any and all comments are certainly welcome. Thank you, Gary Kuznitz |

We fixed a bug in the usage of temporary files that caused AntiSpam to attach wrong spam mails to the complaints if several spams were dropped on the main window simultanously. Changes: * Editing the addresses can be done with F2. * New feature: a default list for addresses to send complaints to (cf. readme.[txt|shtml]) * "Cancel" should read "Cancel" again instead of "Abbrechen" http://sourceforge.net/projects/antispam/ Enjoy! The third release (candidate) within 3 days - exciting times :-) With the help of some testers Philipp has managed to compile a version that's working under XP, too. Thanks to everybody! The first release of the new version of AntiSpam can be found at http://antispam.sourceforge.net/ Feel free to download and test; any feedback is highly welcome. Philipp&Gregor aka Toastfreeware ------------------ General info AntiSpam is an extension for Pegasus Mail by David Harris. It semi- automates the process of complaining about unsolicited mail (aka "spam"). Designed originally for Pegasus Mail 3.12c it still works with the 4.01, 4.02, 4.02a, 4.11 versions and also with the new 4.12 (preview) version (but not with the withdrawn 4.10 release). AntiSpam does not block, delete, filter, etc. any spam, neither on the server nor locally. It's function is to help users with writing complaints to providers.-- http://www.comodo.priv.at/ | gpg key ID: 0x00F3CFE4 infos zur usenet-hierarchie at.*: http://www.usenet.at/ member of https://www.vibe.at/ | how to reply: http://got.to/quote/ |
