May be related to this: do I need to add anything else in module.conf to get my two rear speakers working? I have sent this question earlier to this mailing-list but none of the adviced helped me in getting the two rear speakers to produce sound. I have an onboard intel8x0 based soundcard on my P4PE motherboard. It has three jacks: line in which is connected to my tv-card, line out which produces stereo sound on the two front speakers and microphone which does not produce any sound but which I expected to produce sound on the two rear speakers. I tried, e.g., mplayer with 4, 5 and 6 channels. With 4 and 6 channels it still used two actual channels in which the 4 or 6 channels were combined (?). With 5 channels it produced some error message which I can't recall. I haven't tried XMMS with 4 or 6 channels, as I do not need it (I think). Anyway, is there a way to specify the number of channels in XMMS? Stoic PS: Sorry for the double post Clemens, forgot to cc the rest. > > van: Clemens Ladisch <cl...@la...> > datum: 2003/10/13 ma PM 03:18:01 CEST > aan: m.s...@ch... > cc: als...@li... > onderwerp: Re: [Alsa-user] Alsa + Realplayer 8.0 > > On Mon, 13 Oct 2003 st...@ch... wrote: > > Still when I perform an lsmod I do not get snd-pcm-oss nor > > snd-mixer-oss. > > Apparently, the OSS emulation modules don't get loaded together with > the other ALSA modules.
