Zotero Figure is an open-source Zotero plugin that automatically identifies and extracts figures, tables, mathematical formulas, captions, and table footnotes from academic PDFs. Its bundled document analysis model operates locally without uploading PDF pages to external servers. Detected elements appear in a dedicated PDF reader sidebar with category filters and processing indicators. Researchers can copy, save, pin, crop, and annotate extracted visuals. Selected images can also be added to Zotero notes or associated with their original PDF pages. A separate Figure Library combines extracted content from multiple documents for browsing and comparison. It supports metadata filtering, customizable layouts, and organized comparison groups. The plugin helps researchers examine visual evidence across scientific publications.
