I have used this app since the early days of Classic and have (or had) it running on Windows 7, 10, and 11. It can be quirky occasionally as the developers try to stay ahead of Microsoft changes. I appreciate their generous efforts to keep this application alive. Update December 2024: Although I was having no problems, I installed the latest update when notified by Source Forge. I love this program and appreciate that it is being maintained. Many options for customizing and an easy fallback to the default Windows if needed.

I have used OpenShell and before that ClassicShell for many years, on Win 7 and Win 10. The program has been invaluable as it allows me to customise my Start menu to my preference. I have never experienced any stability issues. I have never required support.

I also hate the Windows 10 menu. Therefore, I happy to have found Open-Shell which gives me back a perfectly working menu in Windows 7 style.

One-word review for this program: Hell. On Windows 10 at least. Good luck using any project setting if you have more than one monitor. It will freeze everything on your computer, near every time, and force a lengthy process restart. This is NOT a stable program and it will give you trouble until you figure out this is what was causing it. Turn off this program if you're using it, and don't install it until the stability is bulletproof. As noble and excellent its original intentions, the program in its current state causes more problems than it solves.
