Aard 2 is a free, open-source offline dictionary and encyclopedia reader for Android. It allows users to browse locally stored reference collections, including dictionaries and compatible Wikipedia or Wiktionary archives. Its lookup engine ignores differences in capitalization, punctuation, and diacritics for flexible word searching. Multiple dictionary files can be enabled, reordered, or disabled to control search results. Visited articles appear in a searchable history, while bookmarks provide quick access to frequently referenced entries. Article appearance can be customized through CSS styles, adjustable text sizes, and system-based color themes. Additional tools include random article discovery, fullscreen reading, and volume-button navigation. External applications can initiate dictionary lookups through Android sharing or supported lookup intents.
