The title sums it up quite well.
Every time I draw with the stylus (Intuos 3) or the eraser for that matter and reach over the border of the drawing area GIMP (2.2.13) crashes. No usable console output as far as I tried. Everything else works just fine (except the buttons on the tablet, but I didn't try to make them work yet)

I don't know if this is caused by the wacom driver (0.7.4.1 on Debian unstable) or GIMP, but it's pretty annoying.

If the driver is the problem: could this be already fixed in later versions of the driver?

    Thanks,
    Werner

Also see this GIMP bug: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=351246

It's also the same for Wacom Graphire 4, it's for all GIMP versions I have tried (devel and stable), and it's for 0.7.2 on Ubuntu as well as 0.7.4 (using Debian package). The GIMP people seems to say it's not their fault according to stack traces, but it's most likely the driver or some library on the way.

Would really like this issue to be fixed, wherever appropriate as well.

Thanks for this info, I could not find a bug related to this, but that might be because I didn't search the gimp bugzilla as much :)

At least now I know I'm not the only one experiencing this problem :D

I can not reproduce this problem.  I used Gimp 2.2.13, linuxwacom-0.7.7-6, kernel 2.6.19, and Xorg 7.0 with Intuos3 as well as Graphire4. Please try the same versions and let us know if you still see the problem.

0.7.6-4 (the latest I found on downloads) seems to fix this. I just copied the prebuilt wacom_drv.so to /usr/lib/xorg/modules/input/ (which apparently is a bad bad idea to do while X is running :D) and now Gimp stable as well as dev works without crashing, at least for a few quick tests.

This is on Ubuntu 6.10, Graphire 4 with Kernel 2.6.17 and Xorg 7.1.1 for reference.

Thanks a lot for the help. :)
