weather.com has changed its page again, and it looks like this one might be more permanent -- there is a "Welcome to your new local weather page!" with links that describe the new features. Meteo gives the (null) error sprinkled about and forecasts aren't working.

I was just hoping this was becasue of the Winter Storm Warning and Winter Weather Message i'm getting (ZIP 58102). We currently have extreme low temps in the North Central and Northwest.
It would be most helpful for these "weather.com is broken / breaks" reports to include a zip code, since the Weather.com "severe weather mode" does tend to change the layout, and thus the breakage would be isolated. On the other hand, that may not be the case in this situation...
Out of curiosity, Joe, just how much of a hassle / simplicity is it to change the W.c parsing when the layout changes? I know you've rewritten the parser to make it easier, but is it like a 30-minute job, or a few hours?

European cities have disappeared too - I live in Milton Keynes in the UK and today my feed disappeared too with similar results to the first post here.
I tried searching for Milton Keynes again, but Meteorologist can't find it. If I go to weather.co.uk though I can see the data on the web, but Meteo can't link up to it.
Perhaps they have removed the free feed altogether?

Hi, I'm the original poster. The zip codes I use are 02144 and 19301, but a random sampling of other US zip codes seem to show the "Welcome to your new local weather page!" message.
cheers,

I think it's safe to assume that the whole site is affected, as I indicated in my previous post, and thus every ZIP code is broken. This seems especially likely since other countries are affected.
Joe's probably aware of that too, with all these reports coming in. Thanks, everyone, for your reports... there seem to be more than enough on this specific issue now. ;-)
Joe's probably under some pressure now get it done, so I'll be waiting patiently for an update.
AFTER he's made updates for the new weather.com layout, or feed, or whatever the problem is, if some NEW event (Severe Weather mode, etc.) changes the layout, -then- I'll make another "weather.com is broken" post and include my ZIP code. :-)

Unfortunately it takes a while to fix it. It's rather frustrating, too, because if I fix weather.com for version 1.4, then I have to go through and fix everything again for version 2.0, because they use quite different methods of parsing weather data (2.0 is more modular, but it's not ready for prime time yet).
I will see if I can whip up a fix tonight for version 1.4.0, it shouldn't be too difficult (assuming I have some free time).
Joe

Joe, thanks. You seem to have it in control. Don't know why you would support the back-released users unless they simply can't upgrade for some reason.

Appreciate the thread as it explained what we were seeing on our Macs.
Also appreciate the incredible work that Joe has put into this.
We downloaded WeatherMenu for the interim. There are several things we really like: the menu font, weather icon sizes, alert symbol, and, thye biggest of all--the ability to put separators in at will on the menu. The forecasts are really clearer as they have less information on the single line.
However, the radar from the Natl. Weather Service that's used is, frankly, bizarre and hard to decipher. Much prefer the traditional weather channel one from Meteo. Also, there is no temp display in the menu itself and it forces one to look at a Tonight, next day, Tomorrow Night, as separate forecasts. Actually, that could be a pretty spiffy option for Meteo users.

I'm glad I found the reason for the question mark in my toolbar and I appreciate that it's being dealt with. BTW, my location is Oulu, Finland. Would be nice to have more support for other European cities as well.
Thanks for all the work. Meteorlologist is the best app of its kind on the Mac.

Totally love Meteo, totally hate the Weather Channel. They're wrong more often than not on their forecasting. I would pay through the teeth for Meteo if I could pick wunderground or NOAA data.
Totally love the app, and can't wait to see what it becomes. Take your time, man. :)

I seriously love this program. After Meteo's little break I did some exploring, tried WeatherDock (which seems to be backed more by weather.com...?) and hated it. Take your time and make it sweet.

Of course, many thanks for your selfless contribution and for making a terrific program. You're the tops!
But getting getting some rest, doing your homework, and having a life away from Meteorologist are also important. I'm sure we'll all be OK for a few more days.

02111, 02130, also broken
As well as 46032....
Canadian locations are broken too. I don't think it's specific to certain pages only, looks site-wide.
58202 is broken, as are 98077 and 98122. it seems almost certain to be sitewide.
20121 is broken too.
60611 broken also
98101 broken as well. looks like it's more than statewide!

Having the same issue with the nine US cities I keep track of. I thought I had done "something" to cause the ???'s.
We appreciate your efforts, Joe and cheer you on

Doesnt work for Cologne, Germany, either.
Very sad ....
Wow, the moment Meteorologist doesn't work is the same moment that I realize how much I take it for granted!
Thanks Joe for working on this wonderful app!
