    Meet EDSAC

An educational tool, built for Kinect and large, high-res displays.

...To celebrate this historic computer and it's importance to the field of Computer Science, a team of volunteers started building a functioning replica of the computer from scratch in 2012. This simulation builds on some of their work, and teaches you about the operation of the EDSAC by taking you on a virtual tour of the machine. The simulation was designed for a display device over 4m wide and at a resolution of 5700 x 2070, with a Microsoft Kinect v2 sensor situated at the top of the screen. It will run on a standard keyboard, mouse and monitor setup, though with an envelope view. An WebGL version of the software (minus Kinect and widescreen) was also created. ...

    M3-IPC

M3-IPC: A Communication Tool for Distributed Virtualization

M3-IPC transparently allows communication between processes of several isolated and distributed Virtual Operating Systems (VOS) which share the same cluster. Its semantics mimics the communication facilities used by a multi-server OS but within the Linux kernel, and extends IPC to processes located on different hosts. Its main features such as IPC confinement, message redirection on process replication or process migration, and location transparency facilitate the development of complex distributed software which could take advantage of them (through simple APIs and user-defined transport protocols).

mqnic - virtual link layer for qemu/kvm

Low latency, high bandwidth IP for virtual machines

MQNIC ( Message Queue NIC ) Virtual Link Layer The Message Queue NIC project provides a virtual link layer for qemu/kvm based virtual machines. The virtual link layer provides transport using the Apache ActiveMQ message server or other message bus and eliminates the need for external IP infrastructure to support VM deployments. Based on the ivshmem technology originally developed by Cam Macdonell the mqnic drivers use zero copy vm<->host data transfers and the apache message server to provide low latency, high bandwidth IP support for virtual data centers while simplifying the provisioning of hosted IP. ...
