...The "tritone" consists of 2 distinct shepard tones with half an octave tone difference, played successively. Every human has it's own way of perception: One would say after hearing the C-F# tritone, that the F# is clearly higher-pitched than the C, but another person would judge the C as the higher tone. We tried to measure, if there is a possibility of manipulating the perception by adding a visual stimulus by using this program coded in C++. Virtual Sound Level Meter for analyzing calibrated sound files
...The program will read in a calibrated .wav file and allow the user to analyze it as one would analyze a sound field with a sound level meter. The software implements Fast, Slow, Impulse and LEQ; A, C and Flat Weighting; Ln and Noise Dose analysis; Octave and 1/3 Octave band analysis; high resolution FFT analysis and spectrograms. Band analysis can be made using fast FFT methods or slower, but ANSI standard methods. Source code requires MATLAB + Signal Processing Toolbox. Developed under MATLAB R2010a (but might work with some earlier versions) Executable version does not require MATLAB and runs under Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7. -

This desktop application provides graphical control of K8055, a USB Experiment Interface Board by Velleman (http://www.velleman.eu/). It will be mostly platform-independend at a later time. The current (beta) version is for windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 on 32Bit. It is incompatible with all other Operating Systems and with 64Bit architecture. I stopped developing this application.
