The “lpACLib” library contains the VHDL description of accurate and approximate versions of several arithmetic modules (like adders and multiplier of different bit-widths) and accelerators. Moreover, it also provides the corresponding software behavioral models/implementations developed in C and MATLAB to enable quality characterization. Besides our novel designs, it also contains implementations for several state-of-the-art arithmetic modules and their approximate versions. This open-source library facilitates research and development in approximate computing at higher abstraction levels, and to facilitate reproducible research and comparisons. Orthogonal method for the Identification of Volterra series. It is an extension of Lee-Schetzen method with two major improvments: 1. Reduced identification uncertainty in diagonal kernel points. 2. Possibility to identify each Volterra kernel with an input with different variance. A highly scalable network emulation tool which emulates dynamic, mobile ad-hoc wireless network topologies in real-time, featuring easy deployment and detailed network models. It was developed in the research project HIDENETS (http://www.hidenets.aau.dk)

We provide MATLAB and Verilog Models of GeAr, and previously proposed adders (ACA-I, ETAII, ACA-II and GDA) at http://sourceforge.net/projects/approxadderlib/ GeAr is a low latency Generic Accuracy Configurable Adder that provides a higher number of potential configurations compared to state-of-the-art approximate adders, thus enabling a high degree of flexibility and trade-off between performance and output quality. These MATALB and Verilog models can allow software programmer as well as hardware designers to evaluate their code and design. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first open-source library of approximate adders that facilitates reproducible comparisons and further research and development in this direction across various layers of design abstraction. Wireless sensor network (WSN) technologies have been employed in recent years for monitoring purposes in various domains from engineering industry to our home environment due to their ability to intelligently monitor remote locations. In this paper, we have developed a purely deterministic model that utilizes clustering to organize the WSN. We propose a deterministic energy-efficient clustering protocol that is dynamic, distributive, self-organizing and more energy efficient than the existing protocols. It utilizes a simplified approach which minimizes computational overhead-cost to self-organize the sensor network. Our simulation result shows a better performance with respect to energy consumption, which is reflected in the network lifetime in both homogeneous and heterogeneous settings when compared with the existing protocols. It is worthy of note that our approach approximates an ideal solution for balanced energy consumption in hierarchical wireless sensor networks.

While wireless sensor networks are increasingly equipped to handle more complex functions, in-network processing may require these battery powered sensors to judiciously use their constrained energy to prolong the effective network life time especially in a heterogeneous settings. Clustered techniques have since been employed to optimize energy consumption in this energy constrained wireless sensor networks. We propose an Enhanced-SEP clustering algorithm in a three-tier node scenario to prolong the effective network life-time. Simulation results shows that the Enhanced-SEP protocol achieves better performance in this respect, compared to other existing clustering algorithms such as LEACH and SEP in both heterogeneous and homogenous environments.
