Since the summer of 2010, the FSAE team High Speed Karlsruhe uses Infineon's XC878 to power its electronics. The XC878 is an 8052 compatible 8-bit µC. Our dedication is to 8-bit real time applications, guaranteed by the powerful peripherals of the XC878. This project aims to publish those portions of our code, which may be of use to a wider audience. -

Small real time operating system for AVR and ARM microcontrollers
AvRtos is a small, preemtive, priority based real time operating system for Atmel AVR and ARM microcontrollers. It was written in C. AvRtos provides message queues and semaphores for task synchronization. It uses a static memory allocation scheme. AvRtos is nearly the smallest RTOS out there. Even pico]OS is much bigger. AvRtos can be compiled using gcc compiler. There is a AvrStudio 4 and Eclipse project file to get the example code working very quickly. -

Those who have read past the "Malware" warning can be assured there is absolutely no malware in this OS or in the download. This warning comes from the "netcat" binary included in the download as a DOS time client. Unfortunately netcat has code that is flagged as malware. FREESCO, a NAT/firewall router/server based on Linux and runs on a single 1.44MB floppy. ...I have been somewhat worried about the number of downloads taking place, so I must point out, in no way can this system be used (yet), it's an exploratory project and while it does have some graphics and other bits, only the code at the moment is useful for anyone.
