SortPhotos is a Python-based command-line utility that organizes photos and videos into structured directories based on their date and time metadata. It can sort files by year, month, day, or any custom format using EXIF and other metadata tags, making it easy to transform messy collections into neatly arranged photo libraries. The tool works with both images and videos, automatically renames files if desired, and can filter which metadata groups or tags to prioritize when determining file dates. Docx2txt is a Perl based command-line utility to convert (even corrupted) Microsoft docx documents to reasonably formatted text files, along with appropriate character conversions. Apart from Perl it also requires a command line unzipping program like unzip/7z/pkzipc/wzunzip.

File Read Test is a tool that reads disk files or directories and stops on the first read error. A second tool, Quick Disk Test, fills a disk with test data and verifies that it can be read back without errors.

Simplebackup is a cross-platform backup program. It reads a configuration file then builds a compress backup set, finally places the compressed files into another location (a directory, a remote http,ftp,sftp server or even one or more email accounts).

cdbkup performs full or incremental backups of local or remote filesystems onto CD-R(W)s. Results are stored as tarballs on single- or multi-session ISO CDs. It works either interactively for multi-CD backups, or non-interactively for single-CD backups.

A simple GUI program that attempts to fully recover unopenable corrupt Open Office files or at least salvage the text. The program now offers an Alternatives menu with links to advice, services and software alternatives for recovery, including a shortcut to Recoveronix File Repair Online's corrupt file recovery service. Using the coupon "S2SERVICES" after a demo recovery of an Open Office odt or ods file will allow for a free full recovery until Nov 1, 2013, a $39 value. namefix.pl is a cross-platform batch file renaming utility first released in 2006. It automates the cleanup of large sets of filenames using regular expressions and configurable rules. Features include handling of whitespace, punctuation, extensions, directory processing, safe overwrite checks, and dry-run mode. Both command-line and Tk GUI interfaces are provided. The project was created by Jacob Jarick and is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL).

Renames files in a proper English title format: prepositions, conjunctions, and articles (<5 letters) are in lowercase unless they are the first or last word in the title; all others begin with uppercase. Can use id3v2 to tag mp3s using info in filename.

The goal is to provide a Webmin module to configure and manage the Amanda Backup System, a great backup software. It will provide an easy way to setup, test and run a complete Amanda installation, with the tools provided by the Webmin interface.
