Tool for copy partitions to another HDD. FreeBSD stores its data on partitions, which incapsulated in slices. Soft, such as Partition Magic, Acronis, etc. detect only slice, not real partitions on that slice. CloneHDD correctly understand size diference.

cdbkup performs full or incremental backups of local or remote filesystems onto CD-R(W)s. Results are stored as tarballs on single- or multi-session ISO CDs. It works either interactively for multi-CD backups, or non-interactively for single-CD backups.

This project has a lively SVN repository for build recipes, over 1000 F/OSS softwares are available. The tool "pkgbuild" is for building packages on Solaris 11/OpenIndiana from RPM-like spec files. The tool also runs on OmniOS. If you want, you can create new style IPS packages and old style SVR4 packages for Solaris 10. The tool is not updated frequently, but the following "build recipes" for pkgbuild is updated every day. For a few hundred build-recipes see the sub-project "spec-files-extra" or "SFE". We already have stacks of e.g. multimedia players mplyer/vlc or postfix/dovecot/cyrus-sasl/spamfiltering. But there is so much more to be added! Volunteers to the build-recipes are always welcome. The littleutils include duplicate file finders (repeats, repeats.pl, repeats.py), image optimizers (opt-jpg, opt-png, opt-gif, recomp-jpg), file rename tools (lowercase, uppercase, pren), archive recompressors (to-gzip, to-bzip2, to-bzip3, to-7zip, to-lzma, to-lzip, to-xz), a tempfile utility (tempname), file property tools (filedate, filemode, filenode, fileown, filesize, and lrealpath), and others. REOBack (pronounced as ray-o-back), is a backup solution designed for Linux users/system admins. It supports scheduled full/incremental backups, remote transfers via NFS or FTP as well as auto-deletion of old backups.

Renames files in a proper English title format: prepositions, conjunctions, and articles (<5 letters) are in lowercase unless they are the first or last word in the title; all others begin with uppercase. Can use id3v2 to tag mp3s using info in filename.

The filewatcher program monitors system files. Changes are archived into an RCS repository and change reports are sent via e-mail.

Simpleburner is a simple CLI application to make burning CDs and DVDs easier. It writes a directory with your files to burn to a CD. It can be run in modes like test burn, makeiso-only, or burn-only. More information is included in help message.

split.pl is a file splitter for large files. When it splits a file it also creates a shell script and DOS batch file to recreate the original file with its original name. It comes with a companion script, join.pl, to reassemble file fragments.

Archmbox is a simple email archiver written in perl; it parses one or more mailboxes and performs specific actions.

CDriveBack backs up partitions for Novice End Users. If the user boots the Live-CD, waits for it to settle, then hits enter, their C: Drive will be backed up. There are also advanced options.

A Bacula web-based management interface for SME (http://contribs.org) distribution and bacula packages Project has been made by ASPerience (http://www.asperience.fr/pole-systeme-et-reseaux/sauvegarde) for SME. Product is internally maintained. tardiff is a perl utility that enables easy patch creation for two different versions of a build/install tree in tarball format. tardiff uses advanced mechanisms to determine differences (visit homepage for a thorough description).

AVD is a continuation of the swim project. The goal is to create a suitable SQL server from swim's not-installed DB, and to maintain the swim client. AVD will be used as a gBootRoot method.
