    s3-batcher

S3 Batcher allows you to execute a number of operations in batch

...Although AWS provides a pretty comprehensive UI to manage your objects, this is not enough and forces you to use the aws-cli in those cases where you need a precise action to take place, or whenever this action is not even available. The specific use case that pushed me to build this was object versioning, where while you can restore specific versions, undelete and so on, you can only do this one file at a time. Therefore, if you are dealing with large amounts of objects, you don't have a quick way to do so (aws-cli even fails to work with pages -> https://github.com/aws/aws-cli/issues/3191 is still open by the time I am writing this). For extended documentation and usage examples, check out the project on GitHub: https://github.com/mfogliatto/s3-batcher

    pesconvert

    pesconvert

    Brother PES file converter

...It parses stitch commands, color changes, and frame boundaries from the binary PES structure and reconstructs the path of the needle across the canvas. The tool emits vector-friendly output so you can inspect or scale designs without losing detail, making it handy for previewing patterns or preparing them for other software. Because the PES format encodes jumps, trims, and thread changes, the converter normalizes these events into a clean sequence of segments. The implementation favors clarity so hobbyists can understand and extend it for their own machine workflows. ...

    Rsync time backup

    Rsync time backup

Time Machine style backup with rsync

Rsync time backup is a shell script that provides Time Machine–style backups using rsync, with a focus on being simple, flexible, and cross-platform. It creates incremental backups of files and directories, placing each snapshot in its own timestamped folder so you can restore files by simply copying them from the backup tree. Unchanged files between backups are represented as hard links, which means you get a full snapshot view of each backup while using minimal additional disk space. The script supports both local and remote destinations over SSH, making it suitable for backing up to external drives, NAS devices, or remote servers. ...

    System Storage Manager

A single tool to manage your storage

...In more sophisticated enterprise storage environments, management with Device Mapper (dm), Logical Volume Manager (LVM), or Multiple Devices (md) is becoming increasingly more difficult. With file systems added to the mix, the number of tools needed to configure and manage storage has grown so large that it is simply not user friendly. With so many options for a system administrator to consider, the opportunity for errors and problems is large. The btrfs administration tools have shown us that storage management can be simplified, and we are working to bring that ease of use to Linux filesystems in general.

    corrupt

This program corrupts a unix stream at a specified error rate

This program intentionally corrupts a unix stream at a specified error rate. It is for systematic analysis on the effects of data corruption. I wrote it to simulate bit-rot in file archives so I could test RAID and archive strategies for data recovery. A few short bash scripts are included so you can instantly enjoy text, image, audio, and video corruption. Just drop in your own data files called test.jpg, test.mp3, and test.mp4 and run the scripts. Usage format is: corrupt [OPTION]... [FILE] where: OPTIONS -bit single bit error instead of byte substitution corruption -B NUM_B number of bytes per a single corruption event -kB NUM_KB number of kilobytes per a single corruption event -MB NUM_MB number of megabytes per a single corruption event -u uniform corruption instead of a random statistical event -c CHAR substitute a constant CHAR instead of a random bit/byte error

    StarLinux P/B Edition

A Live-CD of a Partition Manager and Bootloader Recovery Program.

StarLinux P/B/ Edition is a Live-CD of Ubuntu LTS that is made for partition editing and GRUB/Syslinux (Maybe) recovery to boot into a corrupted bootloader. The edition of StarLinux will have all drivers from Ubuntu and run on a Fluxbox or IceWM Window Manager. It will be 32-bit AND maybe PowerPC so it can support all systems, 32bit or not. This is only a side project that won't get as much attention as StarLinux, but thanks to Ubuntu's constant updates, I don't know how the update manager will work, so a new Live CD will be released Monthly with updated packages.
