Gitlab CLI is a Ruby gem and CLI tool that wraps the REST API of GitLab (including self-hosted GitLab instances) to make automation, scripting and integration simpler. It provides a Ruby DSL that abstracts away direct HTTP calls, letting developers interact with GitLab’s API in idiomatic Ruby (creating projects, merge requests, listing users, etc.). In addition to the Ruby library, there is a command-line interface which enables many GitLab operations from the terminal (or scripts) without needing to manually craft API requests. The gem supports customization of endpoint URL, private tokens, proxy and HTTP options, making it suitable for self-managed GitLab instances as well as gitlab.com. The Mechanize library is used for automating interaction with websites. Mechanize automatically stores and sends cookies, follows redirects, and can follow links and submit forms. Form fields can be populated and submitted. Mechanize also keeps track of the sites that you have visited as a history. This library was heavily influenced by its namesake in the Perl world. Mechanize#transact runs the given block and then resets the page history. I.e. after the block has been executed, you're back at the original page; no need to count how many times to call the back method at the end of a loop (while accounting for possible exceptions). -

Shim to load environment variables from .env into ENV in development. Storing configuration in the environment is one of the tenets of a twelve-factor app. Anything that is likely to change between deployment environments–such as resource handles for databases or credentials for external services–should be extracted from the code into environment variables. But it is not always practical to set environment variables on development machines or continuous integration servers where multiple projects are run. dotenv loads variables from a .env file into ENV when the environment is bootstrapped. dotenv is initialized in your Rails app during the before_configuration callback, which is fired when the Application constant is defined in config/application.rb with class Application < Rails::Application. If you need it to be initialized sooner, you can manually call Dotenv::Railtie.load. -

It is Airbrake API compliant, so if you are already using Airbrake, you can just point the airbrake gem to your Errbit server. The way Errbit arranges notices into error groups is configurable. By default, Errbit uses the notice's error class, error message, complete backtrace, component (or controller), action and environment name to generate a unique fingerprint for every notice. Notices with identical fingerprints appear in the UI as different occurences of the same error and notices with differing fingerprints are displayed as separate errors. Following the recommendation of 12factor.net, Errbit takes all of its configuration from environment variables. You can use dotenv, which is included in the Gemfile, to fill in any values that you can't or won't supply through the environment. -
