    Zipline

    Zipline

Zipline, a Pythonic algorithmic trading library

Zipline is a Pythonic algorithmic trading library. It is an event-driven system for backtesting. Zipline is currently used in production as the backtesting and live-trading engine powering Quantopian -- a free, community-centered, hosted platform for building and executing trading strategies. Quantopian also offers a fully managed service for professionals that includes Zipline, Alphalens, Pyfolio, FactSet data, and more. Installing Zipline is slightly more involved than the average Python package. For a development installation (used to develop Zipline itself), create and activate a virtualenv, then run the etc/dev-install script. Please note that Zipline is not a community-led project. Zipline is maintained by the Quantopian engineering team, and we are quite small and often busy.

    aws-devops-zero-to-hero

    aws-devops-zero-to-hero

AWS zero to hero repo for devops engineers to learn AWS in 30 Days

aws-devops-zero-to-hero is a 30-day AWS learning roadmap aimed squarely at DevOps engineers who want both conceptual understanding and hands-on projects. The README is structured as a day-by-day syllabus, starting with “Day 1: Introduction to AWS” and moving through IAM, EC2, VPC networking, security, DNS (Route 53), storage (S3), and many other core services. Each day mixes explanation with at least one concrete project or lab, such as deploying applications on EC2, designing secure VPCs, setting up CI/CD pipelines, or configuring CloudWatch monitoring. Later in the curriculum, you move into topics like CloudFormation, CodeCommit/CodePipeline/CodeBuild/CodeDeploy, Terraform on AWS, CloudTrail and Config for compliance, Elastic Load Balancing, and cloud migration strategies. A full day is dedicated to “500 AWS interview questions and answers,” which makes this repo double as an interview prep resource as well as a skills builder.

    aws-encryption-sdk-cli

    aws-encryption-sdk-cli

    CLI wrapper around aws-encryption-sdk-python

This command line tool can be used to encrypt and decrypt files and directories using the AWS Encryption SDK. If you have not already installed cryptography, you might need to install additional prerequisites as detailed in the cryptography installation guide for your operating system. Installation using a python virtual environment is recommended to avoid conflicts between system packages and user-installed packages. For the most part, the behavior of aws-encryption-cli in handling files is based on that of GNU CLIs such as cp. A qualifier to this is that when encrypting a file, if a directory is provided as the destination, rather than creating the source filename in the destination directory, a suffix is appended to the destination filename. By default the suffix is .encrypted when encrypting and .decrypted when decrypting, but a custom suffix can be provided by the caller if desired.

    databooks

    databooks

A CLI tool to reduce the friction between data scientists

databooks is a package to ease the collaboration between data scientists using Jupyter notebooks, by reducing the number of git conflicts between different notebooks and resolution of git conflicts when encountered. Simply specify the paths for notebook files to remove metadata. By doing so, we can already avoid many of the conflicts. Specify the paths for notebook files with conflicts to be fixed. Then, databooks finds the source notebooks that caused the conflicts and compares them (so no JSON manipulation!) Specify paths of notebooks to be checked, an expression or recipe of what you'd like to enforce. databooks will run your checks and raise errors if any notebook does not comply with the desired metadata values. This advanced feature allows users to enforce cell tags, sequential cell execution, maximum number of cells, among many other things.

    django-organizations

    django-organizations

    Multi-user accounts for Django projects

Separate individual user identity from accounts and subscriptions. Django Organizations adds user-managed, multi-user groups to your Django project. Use Django Organizations whether your site needs organizations that function like social groups or multi-user account objects to provide account and subscription functionality beyond the individual user. Works with your existing user model, whether django.contrib.auth or a custom model. No additional user or authentication functionality is required. Users can belong to and own more than one organization (account, group) Invitation and registration functionality works out of the box for many situations and can be extended as needed to fit specific requirements. Start with the base models or use your own for greater customization. Testing each change on all the environments takes some time, you may want to test faster and avoid slowing down development by using pytest against your current environment.

    django-rest-framework-gis

    django-rest-framework-gis

Geographic add-ons for Django REST Framework

Geographic add-ons for Django Rest Framework. Provides a GeometryField, which is a subclass of Django Rest Framework (from now on DRF) WritableField. This field handles GeoDjango geometry fields, providing custom to_native and from_native methods for GeoJSON input/output. While precision and remove_duplicates are designed to reduce the byte size of the API response, they will also increase the processing time required to render the response. This will likely be negligible for small GeoJSON responses but may become an issue for large responses. The primary key of the model (usually the "id" attribute) is automatically used as the id field of each GeoJSON Feature Object. The GeoJSON specification allows a feature to contain a boundingbox of a feature. GeoFeatureModelSerializer allows two different ways to fill this property. The first is using the geo_field to calculate the bounding box of a feature.

    drf-yasg

    drf-yasg

Automated generation of real Swagger/OpenAPI 2.0 schemas

Only the latest version of drf-yasg is supported. Support of old versions is dropped immediately with the release of a new version. Please do not create issues before upgrading to the latest release available at the time. Regression reports are accepted and will be resolved with a new release as quickly as possible. Removed features will usually go through a deprecation cycle of a few minor releases. If you are looking to add Swagger/OpenAPI support to a new project you might want to take a look at drf-spectacular, which is an actively maintained new library that shares most of the goals of this project, while working with OpenAPI 3.0 schemas. OpenAPI 3.0 provides a lot more flexibility than 2.0 in the types of API that can be described. drf-yasg is unlikely to soon, if ever, get support for OpenAPI 3.0.

    gitfs

    gitfs

    Version controlled file system

gitfs is a FUSE file system that fully integrates with git. You can mount a remote repository's branch locally, and any subsequent changes made to the files will be automatically committed to the remote. gitfs was developed by the awesome engineering team at Presslabs, a Managed WordPress Hosting provider. gitfs was designed to bring the full powers of git to everyone, no matter how little they know about versioning. A user can mount any repository and all their changes will be automatically converted into commits. gitfs will also expose the history of the branch you're currently working on by simulating snapshots of every commit. gitfs is useful in places where you want to keep track of all your files, but at the same time you don't have the possibility of organizing everything into commits yourself. A FUSE filesystem for git repositories, with local cache. We provide packages for the major Ubuntu releases and MacOS.

    gradslam

    gradslam

gradslam is an open source differentiable dense SLAM library

gradslam is an open-source framework providing differentiable building blocks for simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) systems. We enable the usage of dense SLAM subsystems from the comfort of PyTorch. The question of “representation” is central in the context of dense simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM). Newer learning-based approaches have the potential to leverage data or task performance to directly inform the choice of representation. However, learning representations for SLAM has been an open question, because traditional SLAM systems are not end-to-end differentiable. In this work, we present gradSLAM, a differentiable computational graph take on SLAM. Leveraging the automatic differentiation capabilities of computational graphs, gradSLAM enables the design of SLAM systems that allow for gradient-based learning across each of their components, or the system as a whole.

    nbstripout

    nbstripout

strip output from Jupyter and IPython notebooks

Opens a notebook, strips its output, and writes the outputless version to the original file. Useful mainly as a git filter or pre-commit hook for users who don't want to track output in VCS. This does mostly the same thing as the Clear All Output command in the notebook UI. You can download and install the latest version of nbstripout from PyPI, the Python package index. Strip output from IPython / Jupyter / Zeppelin notebook (modifies the file in-place). Usually, nbstripout is installed per repository so you can choose where to use it or not. You can choose to set the attributes in .gitattributes and commit this file to your repository, however there is no way to have git set up the filters automatically when someone clones a repository. This is by design, to prevent you from executing arbitrary and potentially malicious code when cloning a repository.

    peewee

    peewee

A small, expressive orm, which supports postgresql, mysql and sqlite

Peewee is a simple and small ORM. It has few (but expressive) concepts, making it easy to learn and intuitive to use. Peewee will automatically infer the database table name from the name of the class. You can override the default name by specifying a table_name attribute in the inner “Meta” class (alongside the database attribute). To learn more about how Peewee generates table names, refer to the Table Names section. There are lots of field types suitable for storing various types of data. Peewee handles converting between pythonic values and those used by the database, so you can use Python types in your code without having to worry. The real strength of our database is in how it allows us to retrieve data through queries. Relational databases are excellent for making ad-hoc queries. Peewee provides a magical helper fn(), which can be used to call any SQL function.

    py2many

    py2many

Transpiler of Python to many other languages

Python is popular, and easy to program in, but it has poor runtime performance. We can fix that by transpiring a subset of the language into a more performant, statically typed language. A second benefit is security. Writing security-sensitive code in a low-level language like C is error-prone and could lead to privilege escalation. Specialized languages such as wuffs exist to address this use case. py2many can be a more general-purpose solution to the problem where you can verify the source via unit tests before you transpile. Swift and Kotlin dominate the mobile app development workflow. However, there is no one solution that works well for lower level libraries where there is desire to share code between platforms. Kotlin Mobile Multiplatform (KMM) is a player in this place, but it hasn't really caught on. py2many provides an alternative.

    q - Text as Data

    q - Text as Data

Run SQL directly on CSV or TSV files

q is a command line tool that allows direct execution of SQL-like queries on CSVs/TSVs (and any other tabular text files). q treats ordinary files as database tables, and supports all SQL constructs, such as WHERE, GROUP BY, JOINs etc. It supports automatic column name and column type detection, and provides full support for multiple encodings. q fully supports all types of encoding. Use -e data-encoding to set the input data encoding, -Q query-encoding to set the query encoding, and use -E output-encoding to set the output encoding. Sensible defaults are in place for all three parameters. Files with BOM: Files which contain a BOM (Byte Order Mark) are not properly supported inside python's csv module. q contains a workaround that allows reading UTF8 files which contain a BOM - Use -e utf-8-sig for this. The plan is to separate the BOM handling from the encoding itself, which would allow to support BOMs for all encodings.
