Library of Approximate Adders
We provide MATLAB and Verilog Models of GeAr, and previously proposed adders (ACA-I, ETAII, ACA-II and GDA) at http://sourceforge.net/projects/approxadderlib/ GeAr is a low latency Generic Accuracy Configurable Adder that provides a higher number of potential configurations compared to state-of-the-art approximate adders, thus enabling a high degree of flexibility and trade-off between performance and output quality. These MATALB and Verilog models can allow software programmer as well as hardware designers to evaluate their code and design. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first open-source library of approximate adders that facilitates reproducible comparisons and further research and development in this direction across various layers of design abstraction. This work is a result of collaborative effort between Chair for Embedded Systems (CES) at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany and Vision Image and Signal Processing (VISpro) Lab at SEECS-NUST, Pakistan. -

...PHIGS remains to be widely used in the film industry. Open PHIGS uses OpenGL for rendering graphics rather than implementing it's own abstraction layer to the graphics hardware, or using the PHIGS Extension to X (PEX). The reason for doing so is that today every graphics card manufacturer provides their own OpenGL implementation, which takes full advantage of the accelerated drawing capabilities in the hardware. PHIGS is a higher level API than OpenGL that works with a hierarchical scene graph. Super lightweight task scheduler aimed at 8 bit AVR ATmega micro-controllers (perfect for Arduino), although it can easily be used on other hardware like Microchip PIC. It uses simple round-robin scheduling so no priority levels can be set. You choose the time interval by calling dispatchTick(), this is usually in a timer interrupt. Range for number of tasks: 0 to 255 tasks Range for delay: 0 to 65535 ticks Each task only uses 5 byte of RAM. The one task LED blink example only uses 5 bytes of RAM and 476 bytes of program memory for the whole program.
