    NAADSM

A framework for simulating the spread and control of animal diseases

NAADSM is a framework for creating stochastic, spatial, state-transition simulation models of the spread and control of highly contagious diseases of animals. User-established parameters define model behavior in terms of disease progression; disease spread by animal-to-animal contact, contact with contaminated personnel or equipment, and airborne dissemination; and the implementation of control measures such as vaccination and depopulation. Resources available to implement disease control strategies are taken into consideration. The model records a wide variety of measures of the extent of simulated outbreaks and other characteristics. The graphical interface and output visualization features also make it a useful tool for training and preparedness exercises. NAADSM has been developed with broad international support, is now being used to evaluate outbreak scenarios and potential control strategies for economically important animal diseases in many countries around the world.

    Network Emulator

Distributed Network emulation tool for high rate packet

I need your help: In order to make this framework easier and more useful, I need your contribution. The idea behind this framework is to develop a GUI like GNS3 and make this framework more stable. So if you are interested and have C/C++ programming skills, please contact me at zahid.med@gmail.com This framework allows to emulate a network by managing ethernet packets coming from two kind of interfaces: UDP and virtual network card. This tool is similare to dynamips (GNS3) but it can manager a higher packet rate. It can help to study DDoS attacks based on Botnet using the Lightweigth C++ Virtual Machine (LwCVM) in order to emulate Bots. This project is based on the following projects and libraries: LightweighIP of the TCP/IP stack pthread libpcap for communication with virtual machines dynamips Linux MicroCore

    OpenETran

    Electric power system transient simulator

During the period from 1990 through 2002, EPRI funded the development of a Lightning Protection Design Workstation (LPDW), which was used by many utilities to assess the lightning performance of distribution lines. Since about 2002, this program has not been available. EPRI decided to release the simulation kernel of LPDW under an open-source license (GPL v3), so it may be incorporated into IEEE Flash and other projects. OpenETran can presently simulate multi-conductor power lines, insulators, surge arresters, non-linear grounds, and lightning strokes. It efficiently calculates energy and charge duty on surge arresters, and iterates to find the critical lightning current causing flashover on one or more phases. It is also suitable for use in substation insulation coordination. Capacitor switching, TRV, and other applicaitons may be added. EPRI originally had permission to use code from the Numerical Recipes book in LPDW. These routines have been removed in favor of GSL.

    OpenFrames

    OpenFrames

Real-time interactive 3D graphics API for scientific simulations

OpenFrames has moved its primary development repository to GitHub! Everything else will follow. Get it at https://github.com/ravidavi/OpenFrames/wiki OpenFrames is an Application Programming Interface (API) that allows developers to provides the ability to add interactive 3D graphics to any scientific simulation. A simulation developer can use OpenFrames to specify what they want to visualize, without having to know any details of computer graphics programming. OpenFrames is currently used by three NASA programs: Copernicus (NASA JSC), the General Mission Analysis Tool (GMAT, NASA GSFC), and a Virtual Reality exploration tool (NASA GSFC).

    PMCGPU

    PMCGPU

Parallel simulators for Membrane Computing on the GPU

Membrane Computing is a new research area (within Natural Computing) that aims to provide computing devices abstracted from the functioning and structure of living cells. These devices are called P systems. The objective of this project (PMCGPU) is to bring together all the researchers working on the development of parallel simulators for P systems, specially those using the GPU (e.g. CUDA, OpenCL, etc). Other parallel platforms are also welcome (multicore and manycore, FPGAs, etc). This project has been initiated by the Research Group on Natural Computing (Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, University of Seville). PMCGPU was born inside the P-Lingua project, of the same research group. PMCGPU is a GNU project, so all the applications developed within it are released under the GPLv3 license. Just contact us if you want to participate. Please, visit the Wiki of the project for further information.

    PUPIL
PUPIL (Program for User Package Interface and Linking), is a software environment that allows developers to link quickly and efficiently together multiple pieces of software in a fully automated multi-scale simulation. More specifically, it supports QM/MM MD simulations where the user might choose among any of the different MD engines and QM engines, which are connected to PUPIL as external programs through a tiny specific interface. One of the main advantages here is that the user can use most of the functionalities that may have those external programs interfaced without the necessity to be reimplemented again on independent interfaces. In fact, this simulation interface concentrates all the common code involved in the coupling terms of the QM/MM approach.
