It is a higher level language compared to Ada, C/C++ and Java. In Seed7 new statements and operators can be declared easily. Functions with type results and type parameters are more elegant than a template or generics concept. Object orientation is used where it brings advantages and not in places where other solutions are more obvious. Seed7 spares no effort to support portable programming. Several driver libraries assure that the access to operating system resources such as files, directories, network, clock, keyboard, console and graphics are done in a portable way. Although Seed7 contains several concepts from other programming languages, it is generally not considered a direct descendant of any other programming language. -

This project reimplements from scratch the RPL language made popular by HP programmable calculators, in portable C/C++. The main goal is to release a complete computing environment for various targets. There's currently 4 active targets: the HP 50g, HP39gs and HP40gs calculators and a PC simulator (see the downloads section!). Other ports are planned for the future. -

Ficl is a lightweight, embeddable scripting language designed to be incorporated into other programs, including memory constrained embedded systems. Ficl conforms to the 1994 ANSI Standard for Forth, and provides several useful extensions including object oriented programming that can wrap compiled code and hardware interfaces. Unlike Lua or Python, Ficl acts as a component of your system - you feed it stuff to do, it does the stuff, and comes back to you for more. You can export compiled code to Ficl, execute Ficl code from your compiled code, or interact. Your choice. Ficl includes a simple but capable object model that can wrap existing data structures. Applications include scripting, hardware bring-up, rapid prototyping, and system extensions.

PEARL Compiler and Runtime System
PEARL is a high level procedural programming language, which was especially designed for the demanding need to have an expressive and comfortable language for solving multitasking problems when controlling technincal processes. PEARL is an abbreviation for "(P)rocess and (E)xperiment (A)utomation (R)ealtime (L)anguage". It was designed around 1975 at the IRT Institute of the Leibniz University in Hannover with the idea in mind to have an easy to learn programming language for realtime problems. For more, also historical information please visit (http://www.pearl90.de/). In 1998 PEARL-90 was standardized by the Deutsches Institut für Normung e.V. in DIN 66253-2. PEARL provides the standard data types and structures known from other procedural languages like e.g. PASCAL. Additionally PEARL brings special language constructs for managing real-time and multitasking tasks. -

Micro Programming Language - A Portable Language for Micro Computers
NEWS: The MPL language is now completely defined. No more language changes are to be made. The compiler is complete and should be easy to translate to other languages if you so choose. MPL is a small, simple language based on BCPL, B, C and Jesusonic. The compiler and interpreter are written in portable Pascal. I have successfully compiled MPL for CP/M, DOS, Windows, Atari ST, Amiga and the Tandy Colour Computer. MPL is designed to be tiny in every way, while implementing all the important features of BCPL & B. The result is a compiler written in a high level language (PASCAL) which compiles to under 16K (CP/M). The symbol table, language syntax, and bytecode are all optimized for size. I will write a MPL Reference Manual in time. Contact myself if you want to help get that written.
