    Serial Studio

    Serial Studio

Multi-purpose serial data visualization & processing

Serial Studio is a simple, multi-platform, and multi-purpose serial data visualization program that allows embedded developers to visualize, analyze, and present data generated from their projects and devices while avoiding the need to write project-specific visualization software. Over my many CanSat-based competitions, I found myself writing and maintaining several Ground Station software for each program. However, I decided that it would be easier and more sustainable to define one flexible Ground Station Software that lets developers define how each CanSat presents data using an extensible communication protocol for easy data visualization. Developers can also use Serial Studio for almost any data acquisition and visualization project outside of CanSat, now supporting data retrieval from hardware serial ports, software serial ports, MQTT, and network sockets (TCP/UDP). You can download and install Serial Studio for your preferred platform.

Firewall Builder is a GUI firewall management application for iptables, PF, Cisco ASA/PIX/FWSM, Cisco router ACL and more. Firewall configuration data is stored in a central file that can scale to hundreds of firewalls managed from a single UI. A message from project maintainers: After working on Firewall Builder for many years it is with some sadness that Vadim and I are announcing that we have suspended all development activity for this project. Firewall Builder has been a great project to work on and we have truly appreciated all the support and positive feedback that the user community has provided. Without you we wouldn’t have been able to keep things going this long. You might be wondering why we are doing this... We had an exciting opportunity come up to start a company developing advanced security automation solutions. This was a chance of a lifetime that we just couldn’t pass up and unfortunately it means that we no longer have time available to work on improv

    Unified Communication X

    Unified Communication X

Communication framework for data-centric high-performance applications

Accelerate Your Network Performance with UCX. Collaboration between industry, laboratories, and academia to create an open-source, production-grade communication framework for data-centric and high-performance applications. Unified Communication X (UCX) is an award winning, optimized production proven communication framework for modern, high-bandwidth and low-latency networks. UCX exposes a set of abstract communication primitives which utilize the best of available hardware resources and offloads. These include RDMA (InfiniBand and RoCE), TCP, GPUs, shared Memory, and network atomic operations. UCX facilitates rapid development by providing a high-level API, masking the low-level details, while maintaining high-performance and scalability. UCX implements best practices for transfer of messages of all sizes, based on accumulated experience gained from applications running on the world’s largest datacenters and supercomputers.

    GameNetworkingSockets

    GameNetworkingSockets

Reliable & unreliable messages over UDP

GameNetworkingSockets is a basic transport layer for games. A reliability layer significantly more sophisticated than a basic TCP-style sliding window. It is based on the "ack vector" model from DCCP (RFC 4340, section 11.4) and Google QUIC and discussed in the context of games by Glenn Fiedler. The basic idea is for the receiver to efficiently communicate to the sender the status of every packet number (whether or not a packet was received with that number). By remembering which segments were sent in each packet, the sender can deduce which segments need to be retransmitted. Encryption. AES-GCM-256 per packet, Curve25519 for key exchange and cert signatures. The details for shared key derivation and per-packet IV are based on the design used by Google's QUIC protocol. This library has shipped on consoles, mobile platforms, and non-Steam stores, and has been used to facilitate cross-platform connectivity. Contact us to get access to the code.

    Open Source Routing Machine

    Open Source Routing Machine

Open Source Routing Machine - C++ backend

High-performance routing engine written in C++14 designed to run on OpenStreetMap data. There are several services available via HTTP API, C++ library interface and NodeJs wrapper. Nearest, snaps coordinates to the street network and returns the nearest matches. Route finds the fastest route between coordinates. Table computes the duration or distances of the fastest route between all pairs of supplied coordinates. Match snaps noisy GPS traces to the road network in the most plausible way. Trip solves the Traveling Salesman Problem using a greedy heuristic. Tile generates Mapbox Vector Tiles with internal routing metadata. To quickly try OSRM use our demo server which comes with both the backend and a frontend on top. The easiest and quickest way to setup your own routing engine is to use Docker images we provide. We base our Docker images (backend, frontend) on Debian and make sure they are as lightweight as possible.

    Zeek

    Zeek

Zeek is a powerful network analysis framework

Zeek has a long history in the open source and digital security worlds. Vern Paxson began developing the project in the 1990s under the name “Bro” as a means to understand what was happening on his university and national laboratory networks. Vern and the project’s leadership team renamed Bro to Zeek in late 2018 to celebrate its expansion and continued development. Zeek is not an active security device, like a firewall or intrusion prevention system. Rather, Zeek sits on a “sensor,” a hardware, software, virtual, or cloud platform that quietly and unobtrusively observes network traffic. Zeek interprets what it sees and creates compact, high-fidelity transaction logs, file content, and fully customized output, suitable for manual review on disk or in a more analyst-friendly tool like a security and information event management (SIEM) system.

    conky

    Light-weight system monitor for X

Conky is a free, light-weight system monitor for X, that displays any kind of information on your desktop. Conky is free software and runs in X on Linux and BSD. Originally a fork of Torsmo, Conky's torsmo-based code is BSD licensed. New code in Conky has been licensed under GPL 3.0. Since its inception, Conky has changed significantly from its predecessor, while maintaining simplicity and configurability. Conky can display just about anything, either on your root desktop, in its own window. Not only does Conky have many built-in objects, it can also display just about any piece of information by using scripts and other external programs. A plethora of OS stats (uname, uptime, CPU usage, mem usage, disk usage, "top" like process stats, and network monitoring, just to name a few). Conky can display information either as text, or using simple progress bars and graph widgets, with different fonts and colours.
