...They are available in 2 formats; a collection of LV2 plugins, and a collection of linux executables. The plugins can be loaded into a host program such as Ardour, Muse, QTractor, etc. The executables are standalone versions that contain both the samples, and the engine that plays them.

Netabc.tcl is a user interface for creating web pages that display the contents of abc music notation files using Jef Moine's Abc2svg JavaScript library. Every browser whether it is on a desktop, cellphone or tablet has a JavaScript engine that can render this music.

The project is composed of two layers. The first layer is an artificial intelligence engine, partwriter, that writes music based on some heuristic. The second layer is the layer that defines the heuristic. The definition of this heuristic defines the type of music that partwriter will create. Currently (December 2012), the deepest layer is more or less complete. The author is now writing second layers of interest, namely species counterpoint heuristics according to Fux's Gradus Ad Parnassum.
