...If you're using a ZSH plugin manager, you can install kubetail as a plugin. kubetail itself doesn't have filtering or highlighting capabilities built in. If you're on MacOSX I recommend using iTerm2 which allows for continuous highlighting of search terms, good scrolling capabilities, and multitab arrangements. Another useful feature of iTerm2 is the "timeline" (cmd + shift + e) which lets you display a timeline in your own local timezone next to the logs (that are typically in UTC). -

This is a very simple tool for displaying large text files where large means they don't fit into the 2 GB memory which a 32 bit Windows process can use. I successfully tested it displaying a 48 GB XML dump of the English language Wikipedia which contained 789.577.286 lines of text. -

...The result will be stored in a dockable window in same ordering as in the origin and a double click allows you to jump to the original position. It is designed to treat log-files of typical size like 60MB. More features can be found in the help dialogue of the plugin. For generating the dll file I use a msdev compiler. I was looking for a system for showing status on a wall mounted monitor or projector. I did't found any easy to use and still FREE (as in Free Beer!).. So I start coding my own in JScript. I'm not super hardcore to jscript - so there is alot of newbie errors... Milestone.1 is : showing RRD + news + weather Milestone.2 is : showing RRD + (news?)

SarBox helps user to parse or analyze sar data
...SAR is cumulative activity counters in the operating system. It is the most comprehensive command which helps to monitor performance of various Linux / Solaris subsystems (CPU, Memory, I/O, Disk, Network, etc) all in same log. This makes it difficult to analyze since every counter data is dumped into the log file. SarBox helps to analyze this log file and present data in graphical charts or text format. To collect sar statistics from an environment, use below syntax [user@host ~]# sar -A 30 2 > sar_linux.log “30 2” reports for every 30 seconds and total of 2 times, written in sar_linux.log. -
