SlackEX 15.0 Current (testing/developmental) 64 bit uses kernel 6.19.8-amd64-exton and the Xfce4 DE. SlackEX is based on Slackware 15.0. A lot of Slackware packages are are pre-installed. INSTALL TO HARD DRIVE The system can easily be installed to hard drive (during a live session) using a Refracta Installer. You can then use Grub2 as boot loader if you want. USB install SlackEX can be installed to a USB stick in Windows 10/11 using Rufus or in a Linux system using the dd-command. PACKAGES Almost all Slackware 15.0 standard packages are preinstalled in SlackEX. Study the latest package LIST: https://slackex.exton.se/build-260325/slackex-installed-packages-260325.txt NEWS Using Refracta Snapshot you can change everything and create your very own live installable Slackware 15.0 system. Portable System for installing many Linux Distros on to a Pen drive
This project provides a Live DVD for the multibootusb program, for installing multiple Linux Distros on to a single Pen drive and able to boot from it. This is a portable system, which does not require any installation. Video Below. This system can be started through the DVD Drive OR VirtualBox (See Below). This .iso file can also be written on to a small dedicated pen drive ( ~ 1 GB ) through this DVD's multibootusb program and further used for writing linux images on to other pen drives ( not on the same ! ) thereby making everything portable. Note: Click "+ Other Locations" on the file manager for opening local disks, while browsing for images to write through this dvd's multibootusb program. Also note that the pen drive needs to be in fat32 format for proper booting. if in other formats, for eg. ntfs, you can use the GParted program that is in this dvd, to reformat it to fat32 ( will cleanup all data ). NEWS 250427 Create your own CRUX Live Installable System with Refracta Snapshot! Install it to hard drive with Refracta Installer. Or/and run it live from RAM. UNIQUE CruxEX 2025 is - as my previous CRUX-remasters - unique in the world. I.e. there is no other CRUX Live System (as far as I know). In any case, not for downloading. The good thing with CruxEX is that it is a live system (which CRUX original isn't) and that you can run CruxEX superfast from RAM. Also that you can install CruxEX to hard drive in about 5 min and then have a ready-to-go CRUX desktop system. You can after that install any (extra) desktop environment you like. -

We use the mate desktop environment here; no gnome 4 or unity for anyone. With a start menu and a taskbar, you're good to go. This is just another decent desktop use operating system, but better. Take a good long stare at my packages (check readme.txt). -

A Custom Puppy Linux Live CD With Zerofree Utility i686 32 Bit
After Booting with this Live CD, just click on the CDROM icon on the Desktop, to open its folder contents, then Right Click the zerofree.sh file and Choose the "Run in Terminal" option and then follow the instructions shown on the terminal. As you may be aware, Booting with a Live CD, requires that you need to change the Boot Order on your System / Guest BIOS, quickly on startup, by pressing either F2 OR F12 OR F10 OR an equivalent key and then change the Boot Order to boot from the CDROM first. Some Hints: Puppy Linux Live CDs show some dialogs / settings window on first startup / first shutdown. Feel free to dismiss / close them, if you do not want to make any changes, to the live cd's operation, next time, on the same system. This will not affect the zerofree's work in any way. Apart from this, using the Internet Browser, built in, would require a Free Memory of 1 GB or more, for better Performance ( as it is generally a memory intensive activity )
