Xfce Desktop with Kwin Window Manager for the Effects
Pearl Linux puts a twist on this XFCE Desktop release by using Kwin as pre configured default window manager. Available in both amd64 and i386 it also updates from the Ubuntu 18.04 LTR supported until April 2023. All releases from Pearl up till now have always included Compiz. Since the last time I used Kwin the wobbly windows, magic lamp minimize effect etc were not really were I felt it needed to be. Now Kwin really is very smooth and it is a pretty nice alternative to compiz for xfce. As with all other Pearl releases you can count on the usual software bundle we preinstall. Use your favorite software to flash ISO to USB. -

Pearl Linux 1.5 64 bit has been fine tuned since our first release of Pearl 1.0 on this our first 64 bit version. The changes were made to hopefully add a quicker experience. Opera is now the default browser but we also added Seamonkey and Firefox as many requested. The new WPS is our default office suite. A very close alternative to Microsoft Office Suite. As with Pearl Linux 32bit their are two usable window managers. The default Xfce manager Xfwm as well as Compiz. We changed the Xfwm / Compiz switcher a bit as well as added a very handy short easy to understand QuickTips document (located in the Documents directory in the users home directory). This document may help the "runaway desktop" that compiz could have on most folks that are not above average Linux users when fine tuning your compiz settings. Please see README file for the updates made to the latest release of Pearl Linux 1.5 Alternative. Use "custom" as user name hit enter Leave password blank and hit enter. -

Pearl is not a Mac and does not run mac software, nor is it a pear remake at all. Features include both compiz and marco as window manager.
