A fast Debian-based Linux distribution for VampireFreaks community
Cultix. A distro for freaks'n'geeks, based on the mighty Debian GNU/Linux, with cyber-gothic eye-candy and speed and power in mind. It is built under the aegis of the VampireFreaks OpenSource cult and seems to be the only Linux distribution representing any VF community for now. Cultix comes in the form of LiveDVD hybrid iso image that has an installer. It contains heavily customized Debian Squeeze configs, as well as some manually rebuilt software (Midori, Vala - from official sources) and some components written specially for this distribution (for example, VampireFreaks Sanctuary Radio tray applet, written in Python). This Linux Live CD provides a Quick Way to Save Files from the Hard Drives to an External Drive for Safety and Rescue Purposes. This GUI System gets started in less than 28 seconds and is able to auto mount all drives including external ones, but excluding encrypted drives, for user access. On Startup, this system provides a dual pane file manager for copying files and folders between the panels, by way of a simple drag and drop facility. Following are the limitations of this system : 1. It does not support ENCRYPTED DRIVES at the moment. Do not use it. 2. If the external drive has a ownership aware filesystem, like for eg. ext2/3/4, then the copy happens as ROOT without any interruption. You may change it later using sudo privileges and the chown -R command. Note: To Shutdown the System properly, Click Exit Button on the Bottom of Desktop and Click OK to popup dialog. it is SAFE to REMOVE external drives, AFTER SHUTTING down the system. SafeToNet is a free Linux Operating System that allows you to surf the internet without infecting your computer. It can also be used as stand-alone kiosk software. SafeToNet runs from CD or a USB Flash Drive using the PC's memory, rather than installing and loading from the hard disk drive. It can run on a computer without a hard disk drive, or even one with a corrupted hard disk drive or file system. SafeToNet is Linux based and because it is not installed it is immune to viruses and other malicious infections that could otherwise expose your personal data. No changes are made to the existing operating system on the host computer and when you exit SafeToNet it returns to its previous state. It operates on low spec computers enabling older computers to be dedicated to online use. SafeToNet is built with Tiny Core (v6) Linux and uses the Mozilla Firefox (v36.0) web browser. This is configured to be unchangeable and therefore it cannot be attacked, hacked or cracked.
