Proton
Compatibility tool for Steam Play based on Wine and other components
Proton is a tool for use with the Steam client which allows games which are exclusive to Windows to run on the Linux operating system. It uses Wine to facilitate this. Most users will prefer to use Proton provided by the Steam client itself. The source code is provided to enable advanced users the ability to alter Proton. For example, some users may wish to use a different version of Wine with a particular title. As the new Steam Play is still in Beta, it is recommended that you opt into the Steam Client Beta for the latest features and fixes. Proton works best with the latest graphics drivers. For some cutting edge games and graphical features, you may need drivers newer than what your distribution ships. Install and play games! Xenia is an open-source experimental emulator for the Xbox 360 that aims to let users run Xbox 360 games on Windows and other platforms by reverse-engineering the console’s hardware and firmware behavior in software. It implements the 360’s CPU (Xenon), GPU (including Direct3D shader logic), and system libraries to translate Xbox instructions into equivalent host machine operations, enabling many titles to launch and in some cases play at improved frame rates compared with the original hardware. Because Xbox 360 games use custom hardware features and proprietary APIs, Xenia developers have progressively mapped and translated these into PC-friendly code while balancing performance and accuracy, and the project includes compatibility tracking so users can see what games work and how well. Although not all titles are supported and some still suffer graphical or audio issues, the emulator continues to evolve with community contributions and experimental support for Vulkan and Direct3D. -

libusb is a library for USB device access from Linux, macOS, Windows, OpenBSD/NetBSD, Haiku and Solaris userspace. It is written in C (Haiku backend in C++) and licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License version 2.1 or, at your option, any later version. libusb is a C library that provides generic access to USB devices. It is intended to be used by developers to facilitate the production of applications that communicate with USB hardware. Using a single cross-platform API, it provides access to USB devices on Linux, macOS, Windows, etc. No special privilege or elevation is required for the application to communicate with a device. All versions of the USB protocol, from 1.0 to 3.1 (latest), are supported. libusb is abstracted internally in such a way that it can hopefully be ported to other operating systems. -

A socket daemon to multiplex connections from and to iOS devices. usbmuxd stands for "USB multiplexing daemon". This daemon is in charge of multiplexing connections over USB to an iOS device. The daemon is automatically started by udev or systemd depending on what you have configured upon hotplug of an iOS device and exits if the last device was unplugged. When usbmuxd is running it provides a socket interface at /var/run/usbmuxd that is designed to be compatible with the socket interface that is provided on macOS. You should also create an usbmux user that has access to USB devices on your system. Alternatively, just pass a different username using the -U argument. usbmuxd is not used for tethering data transfers which uses a dedicated USB interface to act as a virtual network device. The higher-level layers, especially if you want to write an application to interact with the device, are handled by libimobiledevice. -
