    Wheefun C Objects

Facilities for Object-Oriented Programming in C

The C programming language is procedural and does not provide an explicit mechanism for object-oriented programming. However, that doesn't mean that object-oriented programming cannot be done in C; with the availability of function pointers and structures, object-oriented code can be written. Although this has been done many times in the past, facilities for generic implementation of object-oriented code are either lacking or have turned into their own programming languages. This aims to provide a method for authoring classes natively in addition to providing software for generating code from a high-level class specification.

    Wheefun Computer Prototyping Kit

    A Toolkit for Designing Computers

This package is designed for people who are a) interested in writing emulators or b) integrating this level of detain into their applications (e.g., a video game). The ability to do this is useful because a) it allows for tinkering far before physical implementation of the design is. In addition to a strong core, WFCPK will also include modules emulating various processors (e.g., the MOS 6502 and the Zilog Z80) as well as the Video-Audio Interface (a custom VGA-compatible display and audio controller). The VAI is designed to fit within an FPGA to be integrated into real designs. This library is licensed under the GPLv3 but also includes the classpath exception so that proprietary software can be linked against it required.

    Wheefun Emulator Framework

    A framework for developing emulators

The Wheefun Emulator Framework (WFEF) aims to provide low-level hardware emulation primitives for writing new emulators, as well as relatively basic implementations for common system architectures (such as the IBM compatible PC). It was originally designed to support the WDMF project, which has need for hardware emulation on modern operating systems. However, it could conceivably be used in other projects. At its core, WFEF provides primitives for emulating a generic system bus and for providing access to virtual screens, sound, and input management. From this, a variety of hardware can be virtualized. We aim to also provide hardware emulation for specific commonly used hardware. As game developers are likely to use this software, it is licensed under the GPL V3 with the Classpath Exception. Providers for certain functionality which may only be accessible under NDA (such as for game consoles) may be afforded by externally linking an implementation.

    Wheefun Execution Library

A Portable Library for Code Execution

WFEX provides functionality for portably executing code using a variety of different execution types ("executors") from generic job objects, most notably the "tasklet" concept. It also includes synchronization primitives such as locks and barriers. This library can be included in your project to implement certain forms of high-performance computing into your projects and has bindings planned for C, C++, and Objective C. It abstracts away various concepts that are often relegated to system APIs that are frequently incompatible with each other.

    Wheefun Graphics Library

    Portable Graphics Primitives

The Wheefun Graphics Library (WFGFX) library implements basic graphics primitives that are designed to be used portably between different backends. The basic implementation includes support for the C and C++ programming languages. WFGFX at its core provides interfaces for manipulating both raster and vector images through an abstract graphics context; in many cases, several low-level primitives exist for more direct manipulation. It is designed to be easily ported to other programming environments like .NET and the Java Virtual Machine, making the codebase reusable as a result.

    Wheefun Ingeniously Retro Engine

Low-Level Game Engine for Retro Platforms

WFIRE is a low-level game engine which provides a portable library allowing for writing video games for multiple classic targets. Originally written for a game called the Crypts of Eldor, WFIRE aims to provide compatibility with a number of constrained environments, such as DOS and the Amiga. It also aims for "new-retro" computers such as the Commander X16 and the Neon816. Of course, modern operating environments such as Windows NT and GNU/Linux are also planned. WFIRE is meant to reduce the effort of writing your own game engine by providing a common framework for functions such as rendering, sound output, and display management.

    Wheefun Math Library

A C/C++ library for performing mathematics.

The Wheefun Math Library (WFMATH) is a library that contains extended mathematical functionality not included in C89 and C++98. It aims to portably provide this functionality for projects which may require them. It uses an object-oriented framework, utilizing a SDL-style dispatch tables in C and special wrapper classes in C++. It is also designed so that new bindings to other languages can be written with effort.

    Wheefun Options Parsing Library

    Portable command line options parsing

This library provides portable command line parsing which can be used across several platforms to provide a consistent command line interface. WFOPT uses the model-view-controller pattern: options are specified via an option set, which are interpreted via a parser object and whose behavior can be modified using controller objects. This library is object-oriented and interaction occurs with it at a high level. Programmers can easily write their own parsers if none of the included parsers fit their tastes, but GNU Getopt-, Sun Microsystems- (ala Java), and DOS/Windows style command parsers are supported out of the box. Additionally, the parsing results provide a great deal of information: not only do they provide the captured options and excess arguments, but also provide access to strings which are putatively options but failed to capture.

    Wheefun Properties Library for Java

A java library for binding runtime properties

This library allows for the programmer to bind arbitrary properties to types which can be accessed at runtime via reflection. Properties can be declared via annotation and later manipulated through a simple static interface; no special naming conventions are required and the properties can be bound to any method which has the appropriate signature.

    WhichBrowser

    WhichBrowser

Browser sniffing gone too far — A useragent parser library for PHP

This is an extremely complicated and almost completely useless browser-sniffing library. Useless because you shouldn't use browser sniffing. So stop right now and go read something about feature detecting instead. I'm serious. Go away. You'll thank me later. There is always an exception to the rule. There are valid reasons to do browser sniffing: to improve the user experience or to gather intelligence about which browsers are used on your website. My website is html5test.com and I wanted to know which score belongs to which browser. To do that you need a browser sniffing library. Almost all browsers say they are Netscape 5 and almost all WebKit browsers say they are based on Gecko. Even Internet Explorer 11 now no longer claims to be IE at all, but instead, an unnamed browser that is like Gecko. And it gets worse. That is why it is complicated.

    Whoops

    Whoops

    PHP errors for cool kids

Whoops is a PHP library that improves the debugging experience by handling uncaught exceptions and presenting beautiful error pages. Instead of a cryptic “fatal error,” Whoops catches the exception and renders a detailed stack trace with syntax-highlighted code snippets, variable values, and clickable frames to navigate between calls. It can be integrated into frameworks or standalone scripts so developers consistently get readable, informative pages during development. Beyond error pages, Whoops supports custom handlers, logging, and filtering so exceptions can be gracefully transformed or reported. Because it only activates in development by default, it avoids revealing internal application state in production. Developers use Whoops to shorten debugging cycles, reduce the frustration of tracing issues, and maintain cleaner error surfaces across applications.

    WonderGUI

GUI library for games and multimedia.

WonderGUI is a Graphical User Interface Toolkit written in C++. Just like other, GUI toolkits such as Qt, GTK, MFC, Swing etc it provides a user interface for your program with buttons, checkboxes, menus etc. What makes WonderGUI different from other GUI toolkits is that it doesn't have a standard look and feel, instead it is made to bring your own unique user interface to life with the widgets and layouts that you design. WonderGUI is also built for easy integration into an existing code base. It doesn’t run your main loop, initialize your application window or assume to be the only code drawing in your window. Instead, you tell WonderGUI about mouse and keyboard events and the screen regions where widgets might need to be redrawn. This makes WonderGUI an excellent toolkit for games and media applications.
