    Size Limit

    Size Limit

    Calculate the real cost to run your JS app or lib

    Size Limit is a JavaScript performance budget tool that measures the real cost of your JavaScript bundle and prevents regressions by enforcing limits in CI. It calculates not just raw bundle size, but also download and execution time under configurable network conditions, giving a more realistic sense of what users experience. The tool is modular: it offers a CLI and multiple plugins (file, webpack, time) plus presets tailored to different use cases, from big single-page apps to small npm libraries. When integrated with GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or other CI systems, it runs on every commit or pull request, failing the pipeline if a change exceeds the configured budget. It can also annotate pull requests with comments that highlight how the bundle changed, making performance regressions visible to reviewers early. With the --why flag, size-limit can analyze what contributes most to bundle size and show a dependency breakdown (using Statoscope).

    Slug Generator Library

    Slug Generator Library

    Slug Generator Library for PHP, based on Unicode’s CLDR data

    This library provides methods to generate slugs for URLs, filenames or any other target that has a limited character set. It’s based on PHPs Transliterator class which uses the data of the CLDR to transform characters between different scripts (e.g. Cyrillic to Latin) or types (e.g. upper- to lower-case or from special characters to ASCII). There are many code snippets and some good libraries out there that create slugs, but I didn’t find anything that met my requirements. Options are often very limited which makes it hard to customize for different use cases. Some libs carry large rulesets with them that try to convert characters to ASCII, no one uses Unicode’s CLDR which is the standard for transliteration rules and many other transforms.

    Smallchat

    Smallchat

    A minimal programming example for a chat server

    Smallchat is a minimalistic chat server implemented in C, designed as a small-scale example (for didactic purposes) of writing system software such as network servers, multiplexed I/O and client state handling. The project shows how you can build a working chat server (accepting clients, broadcasting messages) in very few lines of C, without heavy libraries or frameworks—essentially minimal code, minimal dependencies, and minimal feature-set to illustrate the core concepts. It uses the simplest assumptions (for example: clients connect via telnet or netcat, line-based I/O) and keeps the message logic straightforward: each received line from one client is broadcast to all others (fan-out). The focus is not on robustness, feature richness or production readiness, but on learning how to write a non-trivial C program, handling sockets, multiplexed input (select/poll), client state, and basic formatting.

    Smallest possible

    Smallest possible

    Smallest possible syntactically valid files of different types

    Smallest possible is a curated repository whose aim is somewhat playful yet useful: collecting the “smallest possible syntactically valid files” across a large variety of programming, scripting, markup, and binary file types. For example, the repository might include the minimal valid HTML file, minimal valid PDF, minimal valid executable, minimal valid image file, and so on. It serves both as a curiosity and as a utility for developers and testers who might need tiny stub files for testing tooling, parsing, or file-type handling. Because each file targets minimal syntactical correctness, the repository is valuable for edge-case testing (e.g., parsers handling smallest valid inputs). The project is open, community-welcoming (pull requests accepted) and carries a public-domain style waiver by the author. Although specialized, its uniqueness lies in spanning many file types and languages uniformly under the “minimal valid” idea.

    SmartThingsPublic

    SmartThingsPublic

    SmartThings open-source DeviceType Handlers and SmartApps code

    SmartThingsPublic is the official public repository maintained by the SmartThings Community that hosts open-source SmartApps and Device Type Handlers (DTHs) written in Groovy for the SmartThings IoT platform, enabling users and developers to integrate, design, and automate smart home devices and behaviors. SmartThings Edge Device Drivers are the new method for integrating Hub Connected Devices into the SmartThings Platform. With the launch of SmartThings Edge, we are taking some events that would have happened in the Cloud and moving them to the SmartThings Hub. SmartThings Edge uses Lua-based device drivers and our Rules API to control and automate devices connected directly to a SmartThings Hub. This includes Zigbee, Z-Wave, and LAN devices as well as automations triggered by timers and other Hub Connected devices using drivers.

    Solved by Flexbox

    Solved by Flexbox

    A showcase of problems once hard or impossible to solve with CSS

    Solved by Flexbox is a collection of layout patterns that demonstrates how CSS Flexbox elegantly resolves classic web design problems. It tackles everyday challenges—vertical centering, equal-height columns, sticky footers, fluid media, and responsive grids—showing concise, production-ready CSS instead of elaborate hacks. Each pattern is presented with plain HTML, clear commentary, and minimal styling, making the underlying technique easy to adapt and extend. The project emphasizes progressive enhancement and calls out where fallbacks or browser caveats may apply, reflecting the realities of shipping layouts on the web. Even as CSS Grid gained traction, the patterns remain a practical reference for component-level alignment and one-dimensional layouts where Flexbox excels. As a teaching resource, it has helped countless developers internalize Flexbox mental models and replace brittle layout tricks with robust, modern CSS.

    Source Map Support

    Source Map Support

    Adds source map support to node.js (for stack traces)

    Source Map Support is a Node.js module that enhances stack traces for transpiled or bundled JavaScript by resolving them back to the original source files using source maps. When code is compiled from TypeScript, CoffeeScript, Babel, or bundlers like Webpack, errors normally point to the generated code; this module intercepts V8’s stack trace API and remaps paths and line numbers to their original locations. The output closely mimics Node’s native stack format, so it feels like standard stack traces—but with your original source filenames and line numbers instead of opaque build artifacts. It’s designed to be easy to enable: you can require it programmatically or load it via a register hook so that all subsequent errors benefit. Because it relies on the source-map library, it works across a wide range of build systems that emit standard source maps.

    Spatial C++ Library

    Spatial C++ Library

    Library of generic, k-d tree multi-dimensional containers

    Spatial is a generic header-only C++ library providing multi-dimensional in-memory containers, iterators and functionals. Spatial is a general purpose library with good overall performance thanks to its self-balancing k-d tree containers. Spatial makes it easy to search for nearest neighbors, orthogonal ranges, or perform ordering of objects in any number of dimensions. Spatial's design borrows heavily from the STL, and strives to follow it's elegant interface; therefore Spatial's containers, iterators and functionals integrate well with the STL. Additionally, Spatial's self-balancing kd-tree based containers, capable of object insertion and removal in fractional amortized time, prevent worst-case computational time on most operations. The latest release brings bug fixes and wide array of performance improvement across several algorithms. Nearest neighbor search, in particular, has been improved significantly.
