Annotation-based library for making deep link handling better
Deep links provide a way to link to specific content on either a website or an application. These links are indexable and searchable, and can provide users direct access to much more relevant information than a typical home page or screen. In the mobile context, the links are URIs that link to specific locations in the application. At Airbnb, we use these deep links frequently to link to listings, reservations, or search queries. Android supports deep links through declaration in the Manifest. You can add an intent filters which define a mapping between deep link schemas and Activities. Subsequently, any URI with the registered scheme, host, and path will open up that Activity in the app. You can’t easily indicate the parameters that you would expect in the URI that you are filtering for. For complex deep links, you are likely to have to write a parsing mechanism to extract out the parameters, or worse, have such similar code distributed amongst many Activities. -

EasyPermissions is a wrapper library to simplify basic system permissions logic when targeting Android M or higher. If your app is written in Kotlin consider the easypermissions-ktx library which adds Kotlin extensions to the core EasyPermissions library. To begin using EasyPermissions, have your Activity (or Fragment) override the onRequestPermissionsResult method. If all of the permissions in a given request are granted, all methods annotated with the proper request code will be executed(be sure to have an unique request code). The annotated method needs to be void and without input parameters (instead, you can use onSaveInstanceState in order to keep the state of your suppressed parameters). This is to simplify the common flow of needing to run the requesting method after all of its permissions have been granted. Optionally, for a finer control, you can have your Activity / Fragment implement the PermissionCallbacks interface. -

You should migrate to AndroidX if you use 1.1.0 or above. There are two ways of using Flexbox in your layout. The first one is FlexboxLayout that extends the ViewGroup like LinearLayout and RelativeLayout. You can specify the attributes from a layout XML. The second one is FlexboxLayoutManager that can be used within RecyclerView. The advantage of using FlexboxLayoutManager is that it recycles the views that go off the screen for reuse for the views that are appearing as the user scrolls instead of inflating every individual view, which consumes much less memory especially when the number of items contained in the Flexbox container is large. -
