    Meteor

    Meteor

    Meteor, the JavaScript App Platform

Meteor is a full-stack JavaScript framework that streamlines building real-time web and mobile applications from a single codebase. It couples a Node.js backend with a reactive data system so UI updates propagate automatically when data changes. The framework popularized DDP (a lightweight pub/sub protocol) and a client cache (Minimongo) to mirror server collections on the client for latency-compensated interactions. A batteries-included build system, package ecosystem, and opinionated project structure reduce setup time for accounts, methods, publications, and UI integration. Historically paired with Blaze, Meteor also works well with modern front-end libraries like React, Vue, or Svelte for rendering. Its dev experience focuses on hot reloads, rapid prototyping, and predictable data flow, making it attractive for teams that want real-time features without stitching together many separate tools.

    Middy

    Middy

The stylish Node.js middleware engine for AWS Lambda

Middy is a very simple middleware engine that allows you to simplify your AWS Lambda code when using Node.js. If you have used web frameworks like Express, then you will be familiar with the concepts adopted in Middy and you will be able to get started very quickly. A middleware engine allows you to focus on the strict business logic of your Lambda and then attach additional common elements like authentication, authorization, validation, serialization, etc. in a modular and reusable way by decorating the main business logic. One of the main strengths of serverless and AWS Lambda is that, from a developer perspective, your focus is mostly shifted toward implementing business logic. Anyway, when you are writing a handler, you still have to deal with some common technical concerns outside business logic, like input parsing and validation, output serialization, error handling, etc.

    Motionity

    Motionity

The web-based motion graphics editor for everyone

Motionity is an open-source, browser-based motion-graphics editor designed to bring animation and video editing power to the web, blending the intuitiveness of drag-and-drop tools with advanced capabilities akin to desktop motion editors. It allows users to assemble video or image assets, layer them, and apply animation via keyframes — with customizable easing — giving fine-grained control over motion timing. In addition to keyframing, motionity supports layer masking, filters (color adjustments, blur, chroma-keying), trimming and cutting of video clips, and audio track integration, enabling creation of short animations, intros, social media videos, or animated slideshows directly in a browser without specialized software. It also supports animated text effects (fade, scale, type-writer), and can incorporate vector-based animations or Lottie animations.

    Neoblog

    Neoblog

Neoblog is a public blogging platform that's completely serverless

Neoblog is a public blogging platform that's completely serverless. Reading and posting articles to our platform require no servers and runs completely on the NEO Blockchain and IPFS. The traditional way of setting up a blog is to set up a server that will store your content. With modern technologies, we are advancing into an age that moves away from traditional servers. Combine this with the decentralization of storage (IPFS) and blockchain, we now have a toolkit to provide an application that's completely serverless. Neoblog is a serverless application that uses these these technologies: built on the NEO blockchain, articles are posted to our smart contract, while the content is stored on IPFS.

    Networked-Aframe

    Networked-Aframe

Web framework for building multi-user virtual reality experiences

Multi-user VR on the Web. A framework for writing multi-user VR apps in HTML and JS. Built on top of A-Frame. Follow the NAF Getting Started tutorial to build your own example from scratch, including setting up a local server. Networked-Aframe works by syncing entities and their components to connected users. To connect to a room you need to add the networked-scene component to the a-scene element. For an entity to be synced, add the networked component to it. By default the position and rotation components are synced, but if you want to sync other components or child components you need to define a schema. For more advanced control over the network messages see the sections on Broadcasting Custom Messages and Options. Create an instance of a template to be synced across clients. The position and rotation will be synced by default. The buffered-interpolation is added to allow for less network updates while keeping smooth motion.

    No Coin

    No Coin

No Coin is a tiny browser extension aiming to block coin miners

No coin is a tiny browser extension aiming to block coin miners such as Coinhive. Even though I think using coin mining in browser to monetize content is a great idea, abusing it is not. Some websites are running it during the entire browsing session which results in high consumption of your computer's resources. I do believe that using it occasionally such as for the proof of work of a captcha is OK. But for an entire browsing session, the user should have the choice to opt-in which is the aim of this extension. The idea was to keep it separate from adblocking. Coin mining in the browser is a different issue. Where ads are tracking you and visually interfering with your browsing experience, coin mining, if abused, is eating your computer resources resulting in slow downs (from high CPU usage) and excessive power consumption. You might be OK with that and not with ads, or vice versa. Or you might just want to keep ads blocked entirely and just enable the coin mining script.

    Nodeunit

    Nodeunit

Easy unit testing in node.js and the browser

Nodeunit is a lightweight and simple unit testing framework for Node.js that follows a minimalistic approach inspired by traditional xUnit testing patterns. It allows developers to write test cases as plain JavaScript functions, making it easy to integrate into existing projects without requiring complex setup or configuration. The framework provides basic assertion methods and test runners that can execute tests sequentially or asynchronously. Nodeunit supports both synchronous and asynchronous tests, enabling developers to validate code that relies on callbacks or promises. It also includes features for grouping tests into modules and organizing test suites for better structure and readability. The output is designed to be clear and informative, helping developers quickly identify failing tests and debug issues.

    Notesnook

    Notesnook

A fully open source & end-to-end encrypted note taking alternative

Notesnook makes it impossible for anyone to spy on your notes. Unlike Evernote and other note taking apps, your data is private, not open for everyone to see. Ditch other note taking apps that don't care about your data privacy. With app lock and private notes vault, your personal diary & journal are always safe. Worried that your friend will read your private notes? Notesnook fixes that by having an app lock built-in. Use a pin or biometrics to protect your notes. Protect your online journal or personal diary with an extra layer of security. Your notes vault is a super secure way to store your passwords, credentials & other secrets. Free or Pro, you get the same level of privacy. Making privacy a paid feature means only the privileged few deserve it but privacy is your right. And rights don't have a price tag, or do they? To verify that your notes are actually encrypted (and we aren't just lying), you can use our open source tool, Vericrypt.

    Observable Plot

    Observable Plot

A concise API for exploratory data visualization

Observable Plot is a free, open-source JavaScript library to help you quickly visualize tabular data. It has a concise and (hopefully) memorable API to foster fluency — and plenty of examples to learn from and copy-paste. In the spirit of show don’t tell, below is a scatterplot of the height and weight of Olympic athletes (sourced from Matt Riggott), constructed using a dot mark. We assign columns of data (such as weight) to visual properties (such as the dot’s x), and Plot infers the rest. You can configure much more, if needed, but Plot’s goal is to help you get a meaningful visualization quickly. Plot employs a layered grammar of graphics inspired by Vega-Lite, ggplot2, Wilkinson’s Grammar of Graphics, and Bertin’s Semiology of Graphics. Plot rejects a chart typology in favor of marks, scales, and transforms. Plot can be readily extended in JavaScript, whether to define a channel, a transform, or even a custom mark.
