Motionity is an open-source, browser-based motion-graphics editor designed to bring animation and video editing power to the web, blending the intuitiveness of drag-and-drop tools with advanced capabilities akin to desktop motion editors. It allows users to assemble video or image assets, layer them, and apply animation via keyframes — with customizable easing — giving fine-grained control over motion timing. In addition to keyframing, motionity supports layer masking, filters (color adjustments, blur, chroma-keying), trimming and cutting of video clips, and audio track integration, enabling creation of short animations, intros, social media videos, or animated slideshows directly in a browser without specialized software. It also supports animated text effects (fade, scale, type-writer), and can incorporate vector-based animations or Lottie animations.

Features

  • Keyframe-based animation with customizable easing curves
  • Layer masking and compositing of image/video layers
  • Filters and effects including color correction, blur, chroma-keying
  • Video clip trimming, cutting, and basic editing + audio track support
  • Animated text effects (typewriter, fade, scale) and Lottie/vector animation support
  • Asset search and drag-and-drop integration for images, videos, shapes and export-ready animations
