Ruby toolkit for the GitHub API
API wrappers should reflect the idioms of the language in which they were written. Octokit.rb wraps the GitHub API in a flat API client that follows Ruby conventions and requires little knowledge of REST. Most methods have positional arguments for required input and an options hash for optional parameters, headers, or other options. While most methods return a Resource object or a Boolean, sometimes you may need access to the raw HTTP response headers. Access tokens can be revoked, removing access for only that token without having to change your password everywhere. Access tokens have access scopes that allow for more granular access to API resources. For instance, you can grant a third party access to your gists but not your private repositories. Two-Factor Authentication brings added security to the account by requiring more information to login. -

Onefetch is a command-line Git information tool written in Rust that displays project information and code statistics for a local Git repository directly on your terminal. The tool is completely offline, no network access is required. By default, the repo's information is displayed alongside the dominant language's logo, but you can further configure onefetch to instead use an image, on supported terminals, text input, or nothing at all. It automatically detects open source licenses from texts and provides the user with valuable information like code distribution, pending changes, number of dependencies (by package manager), top contributors (by number of commits), the size on disk, creation date, LOC (lines of code), etc. Onefetch can be configured via command-line flags to display exactly what you want, the way you want it to: you can customize ASCII/Text formatting, disable info lines, ignore files & directories, and output in multiple formats (JSON, Yaml), etc. -

You can use compile.command to compile the manual program, no need to open Xcode to set up a personal development account, just add your GitHub Access Token to gitHubAccessToken in SwiftPamphletAppConfig.swift , and then click compile.command twice to wait for the job to complete. The booklet can easily view the Swift syntax, and there are some guides for the use of the main libraries. The content is still being improved. -

Talisman is a tool that installs a hook to your repository to ensure that potential secrets or sensitive information do not leave the developer's workstation. It validates the outgoing changeset for things that look suspicious - such as potential SSH keys, authorization tokens, private keys etc. Talisman can also be used as a repository history scanner to detect secrets that have already been checked in, so that you can take an informed decision to safeguard secrets. We recommend installing Talisman as a pre-commit git hook template, as that will cause Talisman to be present, not only in your existing git repositories, but also in any new repository that you 'init' or 'clone'. Installation of Talisman globally does not clobber pre-existing hooks on repositories. If the installation script finds any existing hooks, it will only indicate so on the console. After the installation is successful, Talisman will run checks for obvious secrets automatically before each commit or push. -

The Virtual Filesystem for Git (formerly GVFS) is an open source system that enables Git to operate at enterprise-scale. It makes using and managing massive Git repositories possible. VFS for Git virtualizes the filesystem beneath your Git repository so that Git tools see what appears to be a normal repository when, in fact, the files are not actually present on disk. VFS for Git only downloads files as they are needed. VFS for Git also manages Git's internal state so that it only considers the files you have accessed, instead of having to examine every file in the repository. This ensures that operations like status and checkout are as fast as possible. Git struggles to handle enterprise-scale repositories. Operations like cloning will slow to a crawl when you have millions of files in a repository, and even something as simple as getting your repository status will leave you waiting. -

Use Git installed in Bash on Windows/Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) from Windows and Visual Studio Code (VSCode) The primary reason for this tool is to make the Git plugin in Visual Studio Code (VSCode) work with the git command installed in WSL. For these two to interoperate, this tool translates paths between the Windows (C:\Foo\Bar) and Linux (/mnt/c/Foo/Bar) representations. The install.bat script creates a folder structure similar to the one used by Git For Windows, and creates some useful symbolic links in the wslgit\cmd and wslgit\bin folders. VSCode will find the git executable automatically if the two optional installation steps were taken. -

This action makes it easy to quickly write a script in your workflow that uses the GitHub API and the workflow run context. To use this action, provide an input named script that contains the body of an asynchronous function call. Since the script is just a function body, these values will already be defined, so you don't have to import them. All scripts are now run with Node 16 instead of Node 12 and are affected by any breaking changes between Node 12 and 16. By default, the JSON-encoded return value of the function is set as the "result" in the output of a github-script step. For some workflows, string encoding is preferred. This option can be set using the result-encoding input. By default, requests made with the github instance will not be retried. You can configure this with the retries option. -

commitlint checks if your commit messages meet the conventional commit format. commitlint helps your team adhere to a commit convention. By supporting npm-installed configurations it makes sharing of commit conventions easy. We're not a sponsored OSS project. Therefore we can't promise that we will release patch versions for older releases in a timely manner. If you are stuck on an older version and need a security patch we're happy if you can provide a PR. If something in between fails (like a new packages was added and needs to be published for the first time but you forgot) you can use lerna publish from-package to publish anythign that has not been published yet. We identify ease of adoption and developer experience as fields where there is room and need for improvement. The items on the roadmap should enhance commitlint regarding those aspects. -

You can also install it globally. This feels much more natural when cghooks is used with the newly added support for managing global git hooks. When a hook is a sequence of commands, it can be useful to stop the execution when a command fails. Custom hooks can be added to the custom-hooks array of the `config section. -

This tool is designed to help you use git more efficiently. It's lightweight and easy to use. Fig adds apps, shortcuts, and autocomplete to your existing terminal. Options can be set via environment variables. They have to be exported in order to be recognized by forgit. You can use forgit as a subcommand of git by making git-forgit available in $PATH. Forgit will use the default configured pager from git (core.pager, pager.show, pager.diff) but can be altered with several environment variables. You can add default fzf options for forgit, including keybinds, layout, etc. (No need to repeat the options already defined. -

Simple git hooks
Simple git hooks. It is not advised to install ghooks as a production dependency, as it will install git hooks in your production environment as well. Please install it under the devDependencies section of your package.json. Please also note, that it is absolutely not advised to install ghooks globally. To work as expected, make it a development dependency of your project(s). Add a config.ghooks entry in your package.json and simply specify which git hooks you want and their corresponding commands. The hooks' working directory is relative to the git root (where you have your .git directory). This means that if your package.json is in a subdirectory of your git repository, you'll need to cd into the directory before running any npm scripts.
