    gitbatch

    gitbatch

manage your git repositories in one place

Managing multiple git repositories is easier than ever. I (was) often end up working on many directories and manually pulling updates etc. To make this routine faster, I created a simple tool to handle this job. Although the focus is batch jobs, you can still do de facto micro-management of your git repositories (e.g add/reset, stash, commit etc.) run the gitbatch command from the parent of your git repositories. For start-up options simply gitbatch --help.

    git-secrets

    git-secrets

Prevents you from committing secrets and credentials into git

...It works by applying configurable regular-expression patterns over commit contents (and merge history) and rejecting commits or merges that violate the policy. The tool includes hooks that integrate into git commit and git merge, as well as commands to list, add, or remove secret patterns, and to scan existing history for leaks. Teams often deploy it as part of their developer toolchain to enforce a security guardrail: you catch leaks early rather than discovering them later. It is also often used in CI pipelines or continuous code quality checks to detect in-flight vulnerabilities. While git-secrets is not a full secrets management system, it plays a key role in defense-in-depth by preventing accidental exposure in source.

    Git Blame Someone Else

    Git Blame Someone Else

Blame someone else for your bad code

git-blame-someone-else is a humorous Git utility created as a joke to let developers attribute problematic code to someone else. It modifies both the author and committer information of a commit, making it appear as though another contributor is responsible for the changes. While not intended for production repositories, it demonstrates how Git’s metadata can be manipulated for fun or demonstration purposes. The project highlights how easily commit authorship can be altered, serving as both...

    zsh-git-prompt

    zsh-git-prompt

    Informative git prompt for zsh

zsh-git-prompt is a Z shell prompt script that displays rich Git repository information in your shell prompt, such as branch, ahead/behind status, staged changes, conflicts, and more. It enhances developer productivity in version-controlled workflows. There is now a Haskell implementation as well, which can be four to six times faster than the Python one. The reason is not that Haskell is faster in itself (although it is), but that this implementation calls git only once. You may redefine...

    gitslave

    gitslave

    Coordinated multi-repository super-projects for Git

Gitslave is a script for coordinated version control of large projects combining code from multiple independent repositories using Git. More flexible than traditional git submodules, gitslave provides a simple wrapper around command-line git that manages a directory tree with multiple subsidiary ("slave") git repositories in sub-directories of a "master" git repository. Any git command run from the "gits" wrapper will be performed in all the git repositories; for example gits checkout -b newbranch will create the new branch in all repositories. ...
