PLEASE NOTE: This project is no longer under active development. I have switched to Lua/LOVE as my language of choice, and am working on porting Pylot to Lua. Pylot is a multi-stage project to build a complex 2D spaceflight game in Python, inspired by Asteroids, XPilot, and Luola. The first stage of the project, which has been completed, is to create a clone of Asteroids - with a few improvements on the original gameplay. The second stage is to develop the game into a clone of XPilot, and will include client-server multiplayer. The third stage is to incorporate elements from other games, such as the little-known cave-flyer called Luola, including destructible terrain, circular gravity sources and EVAs.

Pymmugwump is a tile-based game in which the goal is to find the location of the 4 mugwumps hiding throughout the board. It was written in Python using Pysweeper's Pygame interface.

Pyo pyo is a python/pygame falling blobs game, inspired by the Puyo Puyo series made by Compile. It isn't really playable yet, so cvs only now. See the homepage for more info.

"Pyrates" is a suite of pirate-themed TUI computer games designed as a classroom aid for teaching software localization with gettext. "Pyrates" showcases a number of common translation problems encountered during software localization. The game requires Python 3 IDE (at least version 3.8) on your device. See the "Wiki" section above for more information about the games. New locales can be added on Weblate.org (see the link above). Recommended soundtrack: "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag."

Pyro aims to be the first major Roguelike game written in Python. Project goals are clear code, easy modification and extension, and of course, a game that's worth playing. This is an early alpha and not yet winnable.
