MAME
MAME is a multi-purpose emulation framework
MAME's purpose is to preserve decades of software history. As electronic technology continues to rush forward, MAME prevents this important "vintage" software from being lost and forgotten. This is achieved by documenting the hardware and how it functions. The source code to MAME serves as this documentation. The fact that the software is usable serves primarily to validate the accuracy of the documentation (how else can you prove that you have recreated the hardware faithfully?). Over time, MAME (originally stood for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) absorbed the sister-project MESS (Multi Emulator Super System), so MAME now documents a wide variety of (mostly vintage) computers, video game consoles and calculators, in addition to the arcade video games that were its initial focus. The MAME project as a whole is distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License, 2 (GPL-2.0), since it contains code made available under multiple GPL-compatible licenses. -

openFrameworks is a C++ toolkit for creative coding. docs have some documentation around OF usage, per platform things to consider, etc. You should definitely take a look in there; for example, if you are on OSX, read the osx.md. apps and examples are where projects go -- examples contain a variety of tasks that show you how to use OF, and apps is where your own projects will go. libs contain the libraries that OF uses, including the open frameworks core itself. addons are for additional functionality that's not part of the core. export is for DLLs and dylibs that need to be put in each compiled project. The scripts folder has templates and small scripts for automating OF per platform. project generator is a GUI-based tool for doing new projects - this folder is only there in packaged releases. -

Squirrel is both a set of tools and a library, to completely manage both installation and updating your Desktop Windows application, written in either C# or any other language (i.e., Squirrel can manage native C++ applications). Squirrel uses NuGet packages to create installation and update packages, which means that you probably already know most of what you need to create an installer. Windows apps should be as fast and as easy to install and update as apps like Google Chrome. From an app developer's side, it should be really straightforward to create an installer for my app, and publish updates to it, without having to jump through insane hoops. GoogleTest is Google's C++ mocking and test framework. It's used by many internal projects at Google, as well as a number of notable projects such as The Chromium projects, the OpenCV computer vision library, and the LLVM compiler. This GoogleTest project is actually a union of what used to be two separate projects: the old GoogleTest and GoogleMock, an extension of GoogleTest for writing and using C++ mock classes. Since they were so closely related, they were merged to create an even better GoogleTest. GoogleTest features an xUnit test framework, a rich set of assertions, user-defined assertions, death tests, among many others. It's been used on a variety of platforms, including Cygwin, Symbian, MinGW and PlatformIO. -
