Gizzard

Gizzard is a Scala framework originally developed by Twitter for building scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed key-value stores that can be sharded and replicated. It provides infrastructure for routing requests through shard trees, splitting or rebalancing shards dynamically, failover, and migrations. In Gizzard, data is stored in underlying storage shards (which could be databases or other stores) and Gizzard handles the process of routing requests correctly as the cluster topology changes. Gizzard's architecture is designed for operational flexibility: you can change the shard layout over time, reassign replicas, migrate data between nodes, and have requests redirected during transitions. It also supports secondary indexing and provides hooks for custom logic in migrations and consistency. Because Gizzard handles much of the complexity of shard routing and cluster transitions, it was used to support large-scale, evolving storage backends in production. -

The simplest configuration is as follows, which configures Mongoid to talk to a MongoDB server at “localhost:27017” and use the database named “mongoid”. If you are not using Ruby on Rails, Mongoid configuration must be loaded manually. This can be done via the Mongoid.load! method, which takes the configuration file path as its argument. It is also possible to configure Mongoid directly in Ruby, without using a configuration file. This configuration style does not support the concept of environments - whatever configuration is provided, it is applied to the current environment, but it does support defining multiple clients. -

OLM has a concept of catalogs from which Operators are available to install and keep up to date. In this model, OLM allows maintainers granular authoring of the update path and gives commercial vendors a flexible publishing mechanism using channels. -

If you install a package into your project and that package has further dependencies then all transitive packages are included in the packages.config. There is no way to tell which packages are only transitive dependencies. Even more importantly: If two packages reference conflicting versions of a package, NuGet will silently take the latest version (read more). You have no control over this process. Paket on the other hand maintains this information on a consistent and stable basis within the paket.lock file in the solution root. This file, together with the paket.dependencies file enables you to determine exactly what's happening with your dependencies. -

To have instances in the drop-down as human readable names rather than IPs, it is suggested to use instance relabelling. The Prometheus docs have a very informative article on how multi-target exporters are intended to work. Run the exporter with the command line flag --redis.addr= so it won't try to access the local instance every time the /metrics endpoint is scraped. If authentication is needed for the Redis instances then you can set the password via the --redis.password command line option of the exporter (this means you can currently only use one password across the instances you try to scrape this way. Use several exporters if this is a problem). If your Redis instance requires authentication then there are several ways how you can supply a username (new in Redis 6.x with ACLs) and a password. -
