**Unfortunately, the Bridge Contest is no longer operational. We hope the code base will be of use to others with similar projects in mind.** A national virtual bridge engineering contest with prizes for middle and high school kids, grades 6 to 12, but anyone can enter for fun. Based on the award-wining Bridge Designer client software, now open source through this project. Web site infrastructure supports worldwide participation in qualifying and semifinal rounds with a tiny administrative staff. The new Rails back end is a RubyMine project. sicp-pdf is a LaTeX-based PDF version of Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs (SICP), the classic textbook by Harold Abelson, Gerald Jay Sussman, and Julie Sussman. It builds upon the earlier Unofficial Texinfo Format (UTF), which itself was derived from the MIT Press HTML version, but enhances the project by fully converting the source into LaTeX. This conversion allows for high-quality typesetting, improved design options, and the integration of OpenType and Unicode features through XeTeX. The repository contains both Texinfo and LaTeX sources, with automated scripts to keep them in sync during builds. Users can recompile the book locally with a recent TeX Live distribution and the necessary fonts, while Inkscape is required for SVG-to-PDF image conversions. The project is continuously refined to address formatting issues and ensure the text and figures render correctly across platforms. -

Git-it is a desktop (Mac, Windows and Linux) app that teaches you how to use Git and GitHub on the command line. This application contains challenges for learning Git and GitHub, by using real Git and GitHub, not emulators. You'll be learning the awesome (and not so scary) command line and GitHub which means when you finish all of the challenges you'll have real repositories on your GitHub account and green squares on your contribution chart. You will need this app, Git-it as well as a text editor. You'll also of course need Git and the first challenge in Git-it helps you get that set up. But if you want to get a head start, go for it! You'll continue to use Git and your text editor throughout your bright social coding future. We recommend installing GitHub Desktop (free) because it installs Git in the most consistent way across supported operating systems (Windows and Mac). -

CRC algorithms, test code, libraries and tables
This is a modified version of the CRC algorithms by Lammert Bies. It supports more algorithms and has been ported to several languages. It's also useful for learning how to do hexadecimal calculations and bitwise operations in various programming languages. Disclaimer: These test programs demonstrate the calculation of CRC.
