  • This is the ONLY tool that does what it does. It is intended for musicians to create a form diagram for a piece of music. Although somewhat basic in design, it is reasonably easy to figure it out. Requires Java drivers no longer included in Mac OS X, but if you google how to make it run on Yosemite, it will tell you how to fix it (you will need access to a pre-Yosemite Mac). General clunkiness of the build aside, the value of what this tool provides MORE than makes up for it's simplicity. You will memorize the form of a piece of music far faster with this tool. I can even map it quicker than by hand, and it is extremely easy to compare similar sections. You can play back a single section of the form (large or small sections, it makes no difference). You can loop any given section or phrase. As a conductor who has serious trouble memorizing forms, this is going to incredibly useful in getting my eyes out of the score and out to the musicians. I highly recommend it for any serious musician - just the process of mapping it is incredibly useful. Once mapped, the file is an amazing study tool. I would give it 5 stars for value if there were a category for that listed.
